    Ok, I've been following the PTE builds loosely but hadn't got around to playing them yet.

    I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to get on this evening, but a few clan matches to test it out sound great, I do like the sound of the direction balance is going in much more.

    If not this evening then I'll play a few evenings next week for sure.

    EDIT: the other reason I'm not playing as much is that I used to be very very good and now I'm barely mediocre, which sounds a bit petty but hey, there it is. When exams finish in a bit under 2 month I'll really relearn the game and start playing tournaments again.

    Yesss, finally my t1 bot spam can create havoc again!!! But seriously, seeing my t1 bots being decimated by t1 turrets not even getting in range to shoot kinda ruined the game for me : (
    So did they get nerfed in evrything, health damage and range? (Because they should)

    Also, i may be online the evening, not quite sure though.

    wow, by much, much better you mean awesome? This is the most fun i have had in PA in a long time, and it was only against bots. Seems the ai is a lot more fun now too, don't know if it is because of the balance or if the ai was updated(Even though they still suck, especially in moving their comm away). The metabolical even won against me in the end(by backstabbing my commander ironically) but i wasn't trying, honestly :confused: Before i died though, we had a cool draw, tanks vs bots(t1 and t2) between us and created a no mans land across half the planet : )

    The fact you like it persuades me flop, I remember the early days where we'd play games that ended with 1000+ T1 units. Epiiiiiiic.

    I played some games with pudding(in PTE build) and noticed soon how metal gets in the red much easier. Map control is much more important now and the t2 units feel more like advanced units. It feels like it's best to have a lot t1 units with some t2 units(how it should be) It is also harder to spam since because of how much more metal evrything takes(or that is how it feels, not quite sure what they changed) Units feel much more valuable this way, making the game a little more exciting. I think this is the best update in a long time and uber should keep heading this way.

    Also, does anyone know what they did to the eco exactly?

    Also cdkrf, you said the dox and the grenadiers felt a bit the same? I did not notice that, i felt that with good vision and micro i could totally decimate a dox force with a grenadier force the same size. In a uncontrolled engagement it looks like the dox got the upper hand though.I Think that they are different enough, there is ofcourse nothing wrong with making them more different i guess. I have not played the PTE so much yet though so i should probably try it out bit more first.

    Well I was just thinking the fire modes don't look much different- the Dox really should have the upper hand in an up close fight however they seamed reasonable evenly matched (with the grenadier having a big advantage if things are in the way of the dox). It's not terrible though.

    Also you guys- you have too little faith! I did say the PTE build was better did I not?! I'm preffer a more T1 focused game (I'm an old TA player after all) so the latest PTE makes allot more sense to me.

    The main changes were: T1 mex now make 5 metal / sec. T2 mex make 24, however T2 units all cost allot more. T2 factories are much more efficient builders than fabbers so assisting is rather sub-optimal (on power at least). Getting T2 allows you much larger T1 armies or a smaller number of t2 or preferably a mix.

    Orbital has had some major revisions and is much cheaper. Star Gates are much cheaper. T1 tanks have had a 2x hp boost and more speed. Towers cost is increased and ranged adjusted so that T1 units at max range can kill walls in front of basic towers without getting hit.

    That's the main changes from what I remember- the result is much improved :)

    1 Other key point- reclaiming trees gives metal, so on low metal planets it's a very useful way to boost your early metal production (1 fabber reclaiming trees gives you +10 m / sec with the usual 1000e running cost so energy is still an issue). I've started making an ealy metal storage on planets with big forests then set 2 cons to area reclaim trees. The metal boost allows you to get a quick orbital factory up or a boost for T2. It also makes planets with trees a much more tempting target to invade, the fires are also cool :)

    I think that we this weekend should try to get as many promethean members together to try out the new PTE build, we should see what time fits for evryone on saturday or sunday. If people have time to play this weekend ofcourse

    I've played a few games on the PTE today, loving it so far. Hard AI really gives me a run for my money some games. I'll try to make some matches this weekend in the evenings, Sunday might be a bit tight though.

    Ok so I've lost a few games with the new build (mostly not my fault). My current impression is that grenadiers are OP, spam them, and infernos are mad OP, spam them more.

    Mostly feels a lot better than the last build (it is pretty much just the latest PTE build) and I will probably be playing a bit more, although hat with exams probably at weird times and not for long.

    You should also try using combat fabbers, they are pretty good now apparently. People on the forums are even saying that they are crazy op. In addition do i not really feel like grenadiers are that op (maybe because i played against people that failed to micro them) I like my ants better, and i can easily keep them out of range of infernos. Maybe a inferno grenadier combination would be a problem, but have not encountered that yet. We should play a game and test it out, i am curious now.

    Hehe well you've encountered it now. Might enter the Saturday tourney and try it there, see how I hold up.

    Does not only 1 of both players need pa stats? You can sign up anyways, try to fix it later. If you tell them your problem i'm sure it's okay
