This mod has been subsumed by Hidden Biomes Enable the grid sandbox biome in the system editor, just in case moon isn't flat enough. No template is provided, take any planet and edit it's biome type. Includes a planet image. Created planets should be playable by anyone, although people without the mod will get file-not-found for the planet image in the lobby. - https://github.com/JustinLove/sandbox_biome - http://wondible.com/pa/sandbox_biome_v1.2.zip - PAMM Version 1.2: Add new image used by recent releases; update modinfo format and change to remote mod. Version 1.1: Add new images used by Galactic update
Trivia: I did some work on Missile Command. I usually use a 400 moon and launcher ids start around 1700. With sandbox biome, they start around 240. (unless this is the result of the new builds)
It's builtin; the devs use it for their internal sandbox mode (which goodies we can't have until the local server is released) But all the terrain files are there, it's just not an option that's ever exposed in the stock game.
Mod usually get packaged with enabled set to true; if you just copied the files you may need to toggle it in PAMM in order to get everything registered properly.
Well, if you don't have PA Mod Manager, then you are going to have do some reading on manual mod configuration. There are two items; mods.json where you have to put the mod id in order to make it's files visible to the game, and an object (scenes_mod_list) that lists which mod files to load in each scene (e.g. scenes key in modinfo), which is usually overridden by PAMM.
It works fine for me. You probably unzipped it in the wrong folder then. It should be in: Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\mods On a typical install %LOCALAPPDATA% will be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/mods This corresponds to a query of NSApplicationSupportDirectory Linux: $HOME/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation Where $HOME typically maps to something like /home/<username>
You can copy paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\mods into the explorer it will resolve it for you.
It seems that having it out of PAMM is more trouble than having it in; plus DeathByDenim reported success. Added icon and released.
i got it working EPIC!! now i can play a full size planet with no lag (my computer runs it fine 95% of the time when planets are not huge ( i think one more stick of RAM will fix this..) Processer Intel(R) Pentium(R) Duel CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz 1.60GHz RAM 2.00 GB System 64-bit)
I'd seriously suggest you get a new computer though. I'm running double those specs and my computer is considered the bare minimum what this game need to run normally. Unless of course you're in the same crap as me: You don't have the money for a mew computer.
im in the same as you and i did not mean lag i ment rendering the planet when planet is done Rendering no lag at all untill 2K+ units are on the battlefield
Hello, I can't seem to get it to work. I installed the mod through PAMM but the planet's icon won't appear in my system editor, any ideas of what could be causing this problem?
I didn't go so far as to make a template (interesting idea though). Make any planet and then change it's biome type.
