Okay so since Gamma was released I am no longer capable of selecting the Progenitor, Alpha, or Delta commander. I know they are for Alpha/Beta contributors, I was one of the people who spent ninety dollars on the game. I bought it through Steam and linked my account instantly after download completed. Is there something I have to do to unlock them again, like type in a code or something? Thanks in advance.
Progenitor, Alpha and Delta were restricted commanders. Progenitor and Alpha were only available to Kickstarters, and the Delta is part of the Cosmic edition (you still have the faction leader version Invictus available to you).
Oh, okay... Thank you for clearing that up for me, I was confused a tad bit, still don't regret paying $90, anything to help Uber build this amazing game bigger and better. Keep up the good work!
There was some specific that Galactic edition on Uber store included those and it's confused many players include me.
Why is that? I assumed the cosmic and Steam versions were the same back when I bought it in Alpha. I assumed as such because of the same price, I bought the game in Alpha on steam for 90$ because of ease of access (all my information already set and ready to go, just one button) but have now found that I am restricted from getting a commander that someone who paid equal price, say at the exact same time as me, except on the uber store got some extra goodies? I don't mean to be rude but I feel a little cheated. Now, I really love uber and think you guys are making a fantastic game but I'd really love to get those commanders and I feel the steam early access was misleading. A few others do to: https://forums.uberent.com/forums/planetary-annihilation-general-discussion.61/ Is there ANY possibility we could get our hand on those commanders that we thought we were paying for? I won't say this ubers fault, I know it's a steam limitation but I and some others feel very disappointed in our commanders being taken away because we chose a different payment method than others essentially...
Progenitor and Alpha commanders were never listed on Steam store page or Uber store front page and always were indented for Kickstarter backers only. Problem is: those who bought Galactic edition though Uber store find those two in their purchase details and this error wasn't noticed by devs for long time before limitations was enforced. It's really tricky situation, but it's have nothing to do with misleading information in early access. IMHO only good solution I see here it's possible rename current Progenitor/Alpha commanders and give them to everyone and craft two brand new commanders for Kickstarter backers.
I'm sorry but I KNOW the Alpha commander was listed under the 90$ (cosmic?) edition. After seeing that I went to steam and bought it on there for the reasons I stated above. Because both were ninety dollars and were both the same time and both alpha I assumed they had the same contents; as did many. Oh and I really don't mean to sound disrespectful or anything it's just a little disappointing/aggrivating to have something you thought you'd have. I just feel it unfair that for the same price someone got the commanders even though again, same price, and time of purchase, yet different goodies; just because it was a different payment method.
No it's wasn't, proof link: http://web.archive.org/web/20130501224752/https://store.uberent.com/Store/PreOrder?titleId=4 I personally bought game in May and I pretty sure this is valid. Both Uber store Galactic edition and Steam Early Access intended to have same content, but as I said there was error in packages. Don't want to accuse anyone, but Uber get less money from Steam sales due to Valve cut so it's not same price for them. Anyway as I said there was no misleading information at all, but few problems that messed up everything.
So then all people who ended up buying Galactic edition did get the Alpha commander? Shouldn't that be given to all other people who paid the equivalent amount to avoid something like this? I just feel slightly ripped off because of it. I understand the problem but I just don't think ignoring the Steam users is the way to go about fixing it; besides as many other people said "It's just a commander" it wouldn't seem to be such a big deal to give to the people who paid 90$ on steam, at the very least for consistency; good business but at the most for moral reasons, fairness.
I not sure if everyone get it or not, but at least some people who bought it include me. I already posted correct solution from my point of view, but I'm not developer. I believe it's will be fair to admit this as technical error, let everyone who bought game play with those commanders and give brand new commanders to Kickstarter backers. PS: As far as I understand it's still can cause other problem with those who affected by this "tech error" because Uber can't see how much did you paid on Steam: $90 or $30.
Alright, a little thing. This kind of reminds me of how the initial price was 90$ to be even with the kickstarter to be fair to the kickstarter amount needed to be paid to get Alpha. I agree though, people who bought Alpha and most definitely the people who had the error in the first place (Which I believe is all but I could be wrong) but I also think the people with the corresponding amount of money paid no mater Galactic or Steam should get it too, to be fair to all as I said before.
But Uber can tell how long ago you paid for it correct? Can't I give proof by going into my transactions on steam, I believe they give dates.. Also I actually still have an Alpha version of PA on my computer because when I originally got the game the steam launcher wouldn't work and so I needed to use Uber's launcher (The irony) and still have the files, it even has the good 'ole megabot in it!
Sorry I can't give you any exact answers, but only confirmed information I have and some personal thoughts on how it's can be handled to make it fair for everyone. I have no idea what information Uber have and my answers based on information developers publicly shared, e.g: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/commander-for-70-dollar-supporters.58894/
I bought galactic edition pre alpha. I have the progenitor but not the alpha or delta commanders. I'm ok with it.
I dont like it that invictus look like delta and so on... in this way I get the cosmic edition special commander and did not even buy the cosmic edition or what ever edition I needed for the delta. Ivictus should have an other look. Its not fair somehow.
I think i know the problem there was a time back in early alpha was the game was all must unplayable the Cosmic Digital Edition was the hight pack you could buy at 200$ on the Uber stone before the release Cosmic Limited Edition at 250 as i just upgrade and swtich over to steam today and lost the ablite to play as the deta or alpha or the other cpommander after buying the new Cosmic Limited Edition for 50$ as i upgraded and i also lost my old key. Here is what you would have got for the Cosmic Digital Edition before the change Alpha Commander Delta Commander Alpha Game Key (alpha, beta and retail access) Progenitor Commander Name in the Credits Planet Named After You Art Book Digital Download Theta Commander and i brought this on 09/06/2013
