I've been playing around a bit and it might be cool if we could turn the Metal down a bit more just to see what scarcity does to gameplay and reclaiming - this is a 900 Radius on minimum:

I think mexes might give a bit too much metal at the moment if we're going to have Mex numbers be variable.
Really glad this feature is in!

Sorian talked about this during today's PTE stream: metal sliders will be changed (apparently have been changed in the PTE build already) so that a setting of 0 gives 0 metal on a planet.

In the live build (for now), setting metal density to a negative number like -100 or -150 will give you your scarce metal.

Still not totally clear on how the clusters setting works, however.

    Awesome!
It looks like there are two things - the clusters are blobs of mexes whereas the density gives more spread out mexes.

I hope they look a bit more like the rocky biome concepts:

Don't think this is in PTE (never said it was). It is in the main branch.

Has the main branch been updated since yesterday? Because what I described (negative density gives fewer mex than 0 density, 0 density does not give 0 mex spots) is how it was working yesterday. o_O

I submitted the change yesterday, but it is not in live or PTE (that I am aware of).

@eroticburrito what settings are you running this in? Screenshots 4 and 5 look a lot smoother than what I'm seeing in game and I run max settings, with all rendering and lighting effects on. Dat water...Mmm.

EDIT: Maybe just the resolution of the screenshot...

If you go under 'Settings- Awesome!' and click 'ENGAGE' then you too will experience this.
I'm foolin. If you like the aqua water, set the planet's Height Range to 0.
