    I'm not 100% sure all the other mods in my list aren't somewhat buggy by now.
    I'm gonna ask in mods section. I get the feeling that icon mods have gotten way too taxing because of how sloppy their implementation is.

    I'm not sure what you mean by this - I've looked at all of them, and can't see how they would cause any performance issues.

    Just from looking at their code - they are either directly shadowing icons (no performance impact), shadowing icons + the icon atlas (a few extra icons isn't going to have any perceivable impact at all), or adding a shader which is unlikely to have a big impact.

    Mods which make heavy use of knockout bindings or include large UI additions are more likely to be the cause of performance issues than straight shadowing.

    I've read it a lot and it's making me feel dumb. What does "shadowing" mean? Just using an existing icon/file reference?

    The developers set up a system that allows mods to completely replace an existing user interface file with something new. It is usually avoided because mods like that are likely to break after every patch, but it can be very useful for things like replacing game art or shaders.

    alright, maybe the icons are in the clear, you'll admit that it's not that simple, else why would the icons get this white border when modded and never when untouched? could it be that both set of files are loaded?

    and this is why you dont release an update without testing it first, especially before a big tournament.

    I don't think Uber should have to consider what mods break when releasing updates.

    me neither.

    that only means more features for us! or that said mod became stock anyways.

    Well what i meant is that a lot of good players rely a lot on mods (especially hotbuild) and releasing before a tournament is not very good as you can easily end up with crashes and game restarts and a lot of confusion, such as what if the system share broke? But im more confused with the fact that we didn't see/get any of this in the PTE, (the last update went smoothly because we had PTE testing, which worked out really well, so im drawing on previous experiences)

    I guess that's about the publicity effect of a big official patch and the fact that the PTE's backend is too weak to handle that many players.

    the tournaments are consciously hosted on an unfinished constantly in-motion game.

    this is either done in full acceptance or not done at all.

    Besides, the modders do their best to constantly keep their mods or the front lines of a new release.

    Hotbuild was the first to function on this patch.
