Running a 7870 at work, and I have seen zero problems. I'm guessing it's older/lower end cards based on older silicon, and the drivers that specific silicon uses.
Running a Radeon 7770 and I don't see the exact same problem, just some very rare and very strange fuzzy aliasing on the outlines of units. It's easiest to see if you've got a magnifying glass and an orbital launcher placed at the poles (without FXAA or supersampling), otherwise one could easily miss it. Actually, it gets much easier to see on the 'uber' shadow setting. Maybe I broke something. Edit: Fixed by bgolus' new light_box.fs Pictured: Before fix, 200% zoom
7350 it's just re-branded low-end GPU based on pretty old architecture AMD used years ago, it's have nothing to do with 7XXX GCN GPUs or even VLIW4 69XX like mine. A4-3300 from @bgolus post have HD6450 that based on VLIW5 architecture as well as OP HD7350.
I think we have a HD4XXX in the office someplace, I need to track it down and see if that has the issue too. I don't think we don't have any HD 68XX or HD 5000s to test if it's all VLIW5 gpus or just a certain range of them.
I also get the super bright glow effect, but not the weird lines like the OP. Radeon 5770 w/ Catalyst 13.12
hmm so yeah if I enable low shadows the bright effect goes away. No SSAO errors I think, but does this look correct? @Uber details: the colors feel kind of powerless somehoow. EDIT: If I enable HDR it seems to get even slighly worse:
Yep, that looks totally broken, especially with HDR on. Not sure why your colors are so off. Any chance you modified your gamma settings in the video drivers? If anyone feels adventurous, try replacing your pa\media\shaders\light_box.fs with this file and turn off SSAO if it's turned on.
For my colors that shader does not change anything as far as I can tell. SSAO is off here: EDIT: Updated to the betadriver 14.4 Still sort of bad colors on my Radeon HD 7850/2G
UBER details preset: low details preset: also no changes to the driver settings So HDR makes no big difference.
