I am very glad to hear that you are satisfied with your Lenovo laptop. Good luck!

I do not have a laptop. Say I lack empathy, but I don't have one, take my computer lots of places, see no issue.

There is a point, where people just say they need to travel, but the situation they describe is overexxagerated. There are some people who drive an 8 passenger vehicle with 8 cylinders and diesel, when they typically drive by themselves to and from work daily with no reason to have that vehicle. There are some people who buy a gaming laptop, just to sit at home with to use 99% of the time anyway.

My parents were like that. Since I moved out, I have never gotten a laptop.

Everyone I know with a laptop, it literally never leaves the desk, there'd be a brighter square on the table whee it stood if you were to lift it up, I can really relate to what you say.

    This is true.

On the other hand, over the past fortnight my laptop has been set up in three houses (my uni home, my family home, my mates house), every day we were at uni it was set up at least once a day in a study area, most days it is set up in a corridor as well, and one night it was set up in a random room while I was waiting for a lift home.

Yeah I could use the uni computers - but my battery lasts 3 hours, whereas we're automatically logged off uni computers at the end of an hour. Plus you have to fight to get a uni computer.

I *could* make do with just a desktop at home, and moving that around between my two homebases. Although that's a pain in the neck when I have to use public transport to get from city to city, it doesn't allow me to flexibly use a computer anywhere group projects can conceivably be held, it doesn't allow flexibility in setting up a computer during cocurricular stuff, and if I want to do any work at all while I'm at uni I have to fight for a lab computer.

About half the posts/likes/lurking/activity on the forums that I do is done off my smartphone, rather than my laptop. Just to clarify that. Getting on a uni computer to debate half the stuff I debate would be pretty disrespectful to other students.
