There has not been a live stream in a bit. If I recall, they are just doing balance changes and gfx optimization. What else are they not telling us..

But can't wait for the next update. :)

Nah it`s over they are probably just recovering for pax, working on the game or living their lives outside of gaming like human beings. Or they`re actually lizard people gearing up for an invasion on every uber customers home in an attempt to rip out their insides.

They've decided to stop streaming the balance changes to avoid what they perceive as kneejerk reactions. Obviously something that will hurt them more than help them, but whatever. I just hope that somehow a balanced and fun game will come out of this without the need for mods...

How else are we supposed to entertain the devs if we can't knee jerk from a live stream?

MY KNEES ARE STATIONARY! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

PAX ate up pretty much a whole week for most of their front-facing staff members, which is why communication has been a bit reduced.

You'll have to explain the reasoning to that.

I didn't know Uber went to PAX. I mean unless they got another build that is different to ours or else everyone has seen it.Unless they are showing off their tower defence game.

You mean THEY will have to explain it. So far they haven't really.

Just got over. Things should happen next day or two perhaps. Perhaps.

Should at least get some word from them, at least.

No more live streams is probably due to them balancing and not wanting to cause a panic like before. I don't mind. I have been enjoying the tourney streams.

No build for 4 weeks is more worrying. Even more so if one doesn't drop today before the Easter break. Also Garat has been quiet for quite a while now. Hope everything is okay in the team.

We haven't even had a viable playtest in about a week and a half because of the lead up to PAX, and then PAX itself. There just wasn't very many people in the office. The reason we haven't had a patch is because there has been a lot of work on server stability and we want to try to iron that out as much as we can before the next patch push.

Be patient guys. We are still here and working hard. The patches will start flowing again soon.

[Edit] Also, the quote at the top of this reply is a great example of a kneejerk reaction, just so you know. ;) [/Edit]

The PAX build wasn't drastically different to the one we have in our hands now. I believe they've a number of features in the pipeline they didn't include for stability reasons.

    EDIT: Dammit Sorian, you ninja.

Oh, okay. Sorry for being cynical, but it did fit the things we saw after the most recent playtests (Scathis saying that he didn't want to stream the balance changes, etc). I'm happier with my cynicism being incorrect than it being so.

To be fair, he said he didn't want to stream the experimental tests, because people got riled up over things that were far from final.

I feel like, much like the Live Streams, people under-estimate the amount of work required to attend something like PAX, and it's many many times worse than something like a Live Stream simply because people are just flat out GONE from the office, for something like a Live Stream if needed Jon or Brad can still be grabbed for a quick question before/after(but not during obviously) where as at something like PAX they're just about 100% out of touch.

All that combined with the fact that some people wear enough Hats to compete with Mann.CO so it's not just a case of "we're down a Programmer and an Artist".

Then we need to think about the Timeline involved, sure PAx is only 4 days long or something, but it's not like Uber can just show up the morning it opens, people spend days, even up to a week on site(or at least near-by) preparing, co-ordinating and setting up things for those 3 days, then after the madhouse that is something like PAX they have to pack up(often in a much shorter time than it took to set-up) and only then can they start transporting themselves across the country.

It's a HUGE thing to take on, especially for a smaller studio like Uber, and even if business/promotion opportunities make all this required anyways, we should be all the more supportive of them taking the time to do it and not stomping our feet impatiently accusing them of not working on stuff and demanding explanations as to why things have been slow.

Sorian already covered it, but to put any fears to rest. :)
    • While we had a contingent of people at PAX East, a majority of the team was still in the office, plugging away.
    • We have not stopped live streaming. Promise we'll keep it up in the future. We never said we'd stop. Metabolical mentioned that the knee-jerk reactions might curtail some of the more experimental streams, but that's not a definite.
    • We're actively working on a build, but between PAX and new feature work, we have some stability to hammer on. Perf and functionality are both looking great.
    • We are not just polishing. There are still features that we do not feel are complete getting work done on them, and some that are still just being implemented.
The next build will be cool, but you're going to see a lot more coming down the pipe in weeks and months ahead that flesh out the overall experience for everyone.

It's been longer than I like between patches, but we've also needed to take a step back and really gauge our progress and what's next. It's looking good, in my opinion, but there's always more awesome stuff we want to do. :)

Despite being work obsessed, I also had some family stuff over the past month, so I haven't been online as much. I'm sure I'll be back to being my normal pesky self now.
