Ah, C&C Generals. I love the C&C, C&C 3, C&C Red Alert 2, OpenRA... I would suggest get the complete C&C collection from Orgin if you do get your refund. A lot of them I wouldn't play, but doesn't hurt to get them.

Besides that, I just recommend Red Alert 2, Red Alert 3, Tiberian Sun, C&C 3, and C&C Renegade.

Then I guess I will have to wait to see about a refund. Sigh, it is typical of my luck that this would be the case. I wish I had more money that I could just ignore this purchase but I am in a situation where I need to make every cent count, and this game had just been a horrible experience.

Yeah, my comment may have been a little out of place. It's just a little shocking to see Knight and ego in the same sentence, considering how much we've seen him do for the community without asking for anything back.

It breaks my heart that my friend basically said "I've had enough" because of this game, and that's our gaming for the night. It's really ruined a lot for us. I was just trying to find out how to get my money back and like the idiot I am I'm somehow being drawn into a conversation that's mostly irrelevant.

Look, I'm not going to respond anymore. I'm going to try and email support. They will probably tell me to "suck it and see". At least I can say that I tried. My friend and I will then uninstall this game and you guys will have one less 5 minute game against idiots to worry about spoiling your own evening.

Need I point out that he's not trying to flaunt superiority, he's just socializing with other forum members. He's not asking for anything, he's talking with the community. He's allowed to do that, as is everyone else. You don't need to pay attention to any comments that don't pertain to the issue you are discussing if you don't want to, this is a forum, and people always get off topic a little in forums. Trust at least me when I say I do not have anything to gain from seeing how fast I can KO a new player in this game, not that I am good enough to focus on that nor does that strike me as fun. However, I wouldn't put it past some player somewhere to do it. I wouldn't strike Knight as the guy who does it either. However, someone sounds like they did it to you, and your only looking for yourself as who else will otherwise?

Best of luck, and if you are looking for alternative RTS with a C&C theme to them, try those free links earlier. Nothing to lose worse case scenario.

I think you are missing the point. I don't think you are stupid or inept. I think that you just are not going to have fun in a open PvP game. Play against your friend. If you are both at relatively the same skill level you will find enjoyment and satisfaction in the game. Unfortunately the AI does not scale well at this point in development. If you want to play a game against just your friend, put a password on the game and list it public.

Why would that not be allowed? Not deliberately being obtuse, I don't understand what you're saying. I also don't understand why Uber might have to be intermediary in such a transaction.

When I first bought the game I felt about the same way (I even went so far as to ask for a refund), however, you can learn quite a bit in an hour to the point that it your not getting demolished every game. It helps a lot if you do some research. If you don't have the time to at least try to get good, then just wait till they update it and add some auto-matching features so you get put up against players your level.

Uber wouldn't need to be a middle man, but if i were to buy these accounts i would want uber to reset them to game keys so i can gift them to others (for de-associating the game key from the e-mail accounts)

You are presuming you need to win in order to have fun. And you expect to win without effort. You need to play 4v2 or another format that is slanted in your favour. If you don't really care about measuring your competence per player it should be no problem. It might not be so difficult to setup as you you migth think. How many minutes is accepable time to setup a game? Is 10 minutes really too much? Or be part of a supercasuals clan. By preordering you are to be served at full worth of your money at launch. There is no shame in forgetting that the game exists in the meanwhile. If you care you can be very articulate and definite on what kind of experience you are expecting and Uber can try to taylor the game to match that. Having a ladder system that is resonable to expect to be in the game at launch would massively enchance your situation.

I am also a little surprised that you consider that the game must first be learned before it can be experienced. For me it's often that games remain interesting while there is stuff to learn. Did you expect playing PA to not take time? Why can't the learning experience count as playing it?

Generally games are licenced, not sold. Usually the licence is non-transferable meaning Uber can set additional conditions (a separate deal) how one person losing a licence grants another person one. There is pressure to have the licencing to be as property-like so the distinction isn't strongly needed and many people mentally model their rights as ownership (which isn't far from the truth). However the okay is needed.
