Orbital units oh my what a pain in the ***! I find it really
hard to manage orbital units because they are so hard to see in combination
of ground units and air units. I was wondering if it would be possible to
add a toggle to see only orbital units and see only ground/air units to
allow managing of these units easier? By default they could both be on, but
when u want you could toggle between the two.

There is. It's called SHOW TERRESTIAL, I believe. It under SETTINGS -> UI, I think.
Keep in mind that selecting by dragging the square will still select the ground/air/naval units unfortunately.

I cannot test right now, but Terrestrial option in the UI is different than what I suggesting. Think of the game as layers. Layer one you have underwater units, Layer two you have ground units, Layer 3 you have air units. Layer 4 you have orbitals, Layer 5 would be Terrestrial.

What I am suggesting is to be able to see only the units on layer 4 or orbitals and hide the other units (layer 1-3 omitted) and to be able to toggle on/off in game via the control panel. You can expand on this idea to apply to all layer types to make managing of different unit armies easier.

Click dragging should be able to work by only allowing the layers which are selected to have select-able units.

I don't really know the proper definition of terrestrial, but the SHOW TERRESTRIAL option does exactly what you want. That is, it hides the icons in layers 1-3 and shows only 4 and 5. To do so, set it to RANGE DEPENDENT.

I agree about the selection stuff though. That's a bit annoying.
