As the title asks, are you excited for the upcoming Watch Dogs?

I personally am, mostly to see just how fleshed out the hacking is. Also it looks like Ubisoft is finally going to live up to the promise of realistic civilian NPC's, so I'm really excited for it.

Oh, and if you don't know what Watch Dogs is, I recommend checking it out

Have you played any Assassins Creed games? It looks kind of neat, but very much like a reskinned AC game.

I've played the Ezio trilogy and 3 (and about half of the first one)
I agree that it looks like that, but, hey I liked those games (well, 1 was kind of meh) and like I said, the hacking looks really interesting to me.

What goes tick-tock, bark bark? A Watch Dog! :D
The game looks great. I love the details like the wind blowing the cans and leaves on the ground as well as swaying his jacket. And you're right, the NPCs look pretty good. Makes me wish I had a PS4

Fair enough. I'm on the 4th AC game, picking them up on sale until I get to the pirate one. They're cool games for exploration, but overall I can't say they were the most enjoyable experience for me.

Am I hyped for this? No. Do i think it'll suck? Nah, it could surprise me if I ever end up playing it. Hacking does look interesting. I wouldn't count on the NPCs being much more complex than the AC games though.

Honestly, neither would I, Assassins's Creed 3 taught me that Ubisoft is not to be trusted.

    But I can dream, dammit.

was AC3 really that bad? I prefer playing games in order, but I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and pick up the pirate one. The story is so silly at this point that I doubt it would matter.

It wasn't bad, the problem with it is that the trailers showed a much better game than what we got.
Like, we were promised that civilians would walk up to you and give you random quests (like hunt deer for a hungry family or retrieve an item for a merchant, small things that didn't need to be done but would add life to the people in the world)

They also said that a bigger emphasis would be put on putting the "Assassin" back in "Assassin's Creed" but it was less stealth&stab then ever.

Apart from that the game was pretty good, the combat was really fun, but the story was a bit on the bland side of things, though.

If you were to skip it you'd miss a fairly big plot-point at the end, but from what I've heard about Black Flag it's not really one that makes an impact.

The Ezio trilogy was good, everything else pretty crappy. Black Flag isn't directly tied to the previous games story-wise nor does it even feel like an AC game.

As for Watch Dogs; based on these few rather fresh Ubi games that I've played I'm not expecting anything good from them any time soon.

I'm pretty sure that's mostly differences between the PS4 and PC version.

Although beyond that, unfortunately there's clearly been a downgrade nonetheless.
Despite that I think it still looks great and even better than the 2013 part of that gif.

I got really piddled off when it was delayed. Still not sure whether to get it for PC or console. I prefer GTA/AC on console but mods! Graphics! Accessibility!

I pretty much have to get it on console, or upgrade my rig.
    But that requires money...
    That I don't have...
Because I bought a next gen console...

I hate bumping my own threads, but I HAVE to post this.
New trailer showing off PC graphics, skip to 0:45

They really set themselves a challenge with all that eyecandy. Let's hope they get their marbles sorted out with optimization.

What's that? It's out and I have a reason to cast resurrection? HURRAH!!
Although I have little to say about it because I don't have it yet :-/
The WTF is, is promising though.

Honestly, I didn't really expect much else.
All GTA-esque games have terrible PC ports. It's weird.

It's like any other modern Ubisoft game. Looks nice but the gameplay and story are not worth what the game costs. The best part about the game is having mouse accel and aim assist that can't be turned off, not surprising seeing how console centered Ubi is.
