    Etc.
I would hate these things, for a simple reason, this steals every kind of micromanagement and goes in the direction that the computer plays the game for us.
I do not like to see that the alerts are telling me everything what I have to see, because I must keep attention on my stuff.
I'm okay with stuff like anti-nuke ready, factory complete and and that kind of basic stuff, but I want to play the game and I want to make mistakes that I can learn from them.

This isn't phrase suggestions. Better phrases are out there, I'm just talking about the events.

    1. Nuclear missile finished
    2. Planet ready to launch
    3. Orbital unit reached other planet
    4. Commander under attack
    5. Low power/metal (maybe? This could get annoying, so put it on a timer. If it hasn't happened in a while, then notify me)

Some people have said "nuclear launch detected" – and I vote no about that. Nukes are common. You should have to gain intel on that rather than instantly know. All notifications should be about my stuff or be intel based.

Id love a more blatant UI indicator when your units can see them flying however.

Like something that shows you where they are, where they are going and stuff like that.

    But from orbit too.

    I could see a late-game FFA now...
    NUCLE-NUC-NUC-NUCLEA-NUCLEAR LAU-NUC-NUCLEAR LAUNCH DET-NUCLEA-NUCL-NUCLEAR LAU-NU-NU-NUCLEAR etc.
    It'd be so gloriously annoying.

On that note - "Commander Annihilated" and/or "Army Annihilated" to prompt you check the player panel and see who is in/out.

"Enemy unit in orbit". The first time an enemy orbital unit is spotted.
"An orbital body/a planet is being contested". An enemy orbital unit is spotted, going to a previously unvisited orbital body.
"Warning. Interstellar collision course detected. ETA: 2 minutes. Estimated force of destruction: (Local/Total Surface Annihilation or Total Planetary Annihilation)". Planet smashing.

    OH YEAH WOLO.

There's a very NSFW cartoon called YOLO on youtube which I will not provide a link to here and is totally unrelated to Age of Empires.

    "Enemy commander sighted"
    "Uber cannon ready"
"Destination Reached" when ever a group of units reaches their last waypoint.
    "Halley Sighted"
    "Nuke Ready for Launch"
anything that costs more than 10k metal should be announced when complete.
And then general acknowledgements when move, patrol, or attack orders are issued.
"area secure" when there is nothing left to attack in an attack area.

If we are to know when players have created alliances on the fly mid-game when that is implemented would it not be wise to have something along the lines of "A Coalition has been formed" or WTTE.
If we are not supposed to know if such alliances exist as and when, then; *shrugs*

    "KEW Engaged"
    "Nuclear Launch Detected"
"We are losing ground.."(when many units are being destroyed at the same time)
"Annihilation Compleated" (when you destroy a planet with an KEW)
    "Enemies are attacking our base"
"We have engaged the enemy at these cordinates"(when you are under attack)(cords are just for effect)
    "Commander is under attack"
"Warning: Nuclear attack detected" (when you got hit by a nuke)
Thats all i could think for now

When you have a large group of units sent along a round about path it would be good to know when they get there. This alert would only be at the final way point not each way point along the way. So I don't think it would get annoying at all.
