Remember the old issue I talked about where the game suddenly stops. everything freezes in place, nothing is operable, yet the game or server doesn't crash. I have been able to reproduce this in a limited fashion. It's not 100% accurate as I can't get it to work in an controlled environment, but It happens every time in pub games. When it does happen is when you send a unit on an astraeus from one planet to the other. Recently I have been trying all kinds of units but I just realised (in these past 2 games that this has occurred) that it might be an astraeus with a T2 Bot fabber loaded on it. Not sure but I think this may finally be it.
Sad news. Tried to recreate it in a controlled environment again (AKA me vs sandbox AI) and it doesn't want to occur. I can confirm though that is happens in pub games 75% if the time we try to send something off world with an astraeus. Usually me and my mate are the first ones to do so.
Nope, origin and target planets don't matter. Happens way before that for me. It happens when I'm trying to send my first unit from the planet. It's very annoying, because it happens so frequents for me that I cannot play a normal game anymore. Yesterday it killed 3 games in a row.
From my experience, it looks like it is moving orbital units away from a planet that has activated Halleys and is moving already.
It is just massive server-lag. The simulation keeps running but all the players don't receive any new data. As soon as the game picks up again all your commands are already executed. I assume they just need to spend some more hours working on the (server-side?) performance. Or rent more powerful servers and deregulate the bandwith use.
Well my guess is that Uber is working very hard on the sim performance. It is the biggest performance issue atm
I have had this issue, but it hasn't been related to fabbers and orbital. It's been occurring in random AI games. I think it was an internet speed thing.
