Uber never said they where against the idea of different races by principle, just that they certainly wouldn't do it for release. they just don't have the time for it. the platform needs to be built before the game.

They said a new faction might be a mod, that will be sold separately from the game and the money will be split between developer and Uber. I doubt that Uber itself will ship another faction.

I wish I had, some Uber guy posted this on forums, but I cannot remember where. It was max one two weeks ago when I read that.

that's wasn't on the topic of races, it was on the topic of mods.

A race mod was used as an example here to clarify that a single unit mod would not qualify for monetization, literally read and read it literally!
