More planet types/tilesets?

Are there any plans to include any more planet types? While the variety is pretty good at the moment (especially with the procedural generation!), I find that the Earth, Desert and Tropical types are very similar, almost just the same planet type with different slider settings. I know Gas Giants are coming, but they're a different kettle of fish. Or on a different tack, could planet types be modded in?

TA had quite a lot of tileset options (I know this VERY different!) - so any chance of things like Lush, Greenworld, Mars, Crystal, Acid? Something a bit more 'alien' would be quite cool.

Or am I just being FAR too greedy

Some super-alien looking stuff would be awesome. I like the Crystal and Acid ideas - some stuff right out of Space Ghost. ^^

They Crystal planets in TA were lovely... I also like the 'gas plants' you had on some maps that would explode when they caught fire and all bobbed about. A guy I know was trying to recreate the animated gas plant in Spring but wasn't able to get it working unfortunately...

There will be extra biomes made after release as a mod...

Also i'll be making custom earth and desert biomes with some added extra's like cities on the "earth2" and pyramids on the "desert2" (i'll make them seperate from the original planets so they can both be used at the same time plain and modded.)

oh ya. More planets will be added, after the game is built probably. I could see how it could be modded in.

Gas Giants are ubers turf.. and they need their own special mechanics to be useful in game...

The rest tho could easily be done by a modder..
