Make orbital launches less scary

    I have a small issue with orbital launchers when they finish a unit. The launch into space animation makes me panic when I see an explosion in the middle of my base. I have also seen a few gameplay videos where the players freak out during this animation as well. I know that this is probably not a priority, but it would be a nice change to see.

    Hmmmm. I dunno.

    Previoiusly it looked like a nuke.

    Not sure how the animation would work without it looking like a nuke or explosion or... something.

    What would the change be?

    Instead of an explosion how about unicorns explode out!(Jk)

    perhaps make the wreckage fall down without an exhaust trail?

    It doesn't fall back down anymore, I wouldn't mind if it just kind-of breaks apart after it gets is payload into the orbital layer

    May be other color of explosion on launch, grey-white without yellow and red?

    I agree, whenever I see a launch I have a little panic attack.

    I use the transparent icon mod. They have an icon for the nuke. So haven't had this problem with this in a while. So all they need is an easily recognizable icon and it's fine.

    Normally space rocket boosters do not explode. They just fall down:

    I think the explosion is unnecessary. Also the smoke trail when the rocket goes up could be made look different from a nuke to avoid confusion.

    I may be wrong, but I believe the next build that comes out will remove boosters once their payload is in orbit.
    I saw something to that effect on last night's playtest.

    I panic because I see a big explosion in my base and what looks like a nuke coming down. I just want the animation to be toned down a bit, that is all.

    Orbital Launchers are less imposing then they should be...because PA has a big focus on Orbital RTS and awesomeness that happens in the orbital layer o_O
    (they have no right to be that small! They should be more Scary! And should look as tall as the one in the Trailer IMO)

    find a point where a orbital unit is being launched and watch closely.

    Know that I do not like this new change, it makes me very sad.

    If Uber changed it for the reasons you brought up I donnot understand as to me this was a non-issue.

    When you screenshot the fire projectile it kind of looks like an explosion of flower petals.

    My issue with the orbital launcher having the rocket fall down to the planet was that it did damage to my buildings & units on landing. In beta I actually lost my commander because of it... I personally prefer the current animation

    I actually don't follow Twitch videos as I don't have an account. Anyways, the new animation looks better than a rocket pod falling back onto the factory.
