I know that this game isn't finalized and that this is probably not of the highest priority especially that this game can be installed on all major platforms. But for those with powerful system that want to play this game on their laptop or weaker Hardware somewhere else in the house this is a great solution. Here is a bug that has been found with people trying to stream this game with Valve Steam Streaming service. Basically input from the CLIENT side of things isn't recognize or does not lead to any commands to the HOST. I wanted to maybe see of the developer would like to track this bug and maybe work with Valve developers toward a solution. There is a thread started in the Homestream group on Steam: (I couldn't post this as a link) steamcommunity.com/groups/homestream/discussions/1/540733523506039514/
You know I just tested it in most recent Steam version and it's works fine for me again. I'm use it this way: Windows 7 laptop host -> Linux desktop client
i just tested it right before writing this thread. =( Thank you for the tracker Windows 8.1 Host to Mac osx 10.9.2 Client
Do you running most recent Steam Beta? E.g click on "Steam" -> "Check for Steam Client Updates..." It's sometimes take a while before Steam ask for update on it's own.
Yes I just updated HOST Steam build : March 10 at 20:33:06 CLIENT steam built March 10 at 20:35:22 same Package version.
If somebody interested in full discussion here is topic going on Steam forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558749191202820336/
Not in the current version of steam but when their release SteamOS you'll be able to stream from your computer to a SteamOS machine. Don't think OnLive. It is local network only. - http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/
Youre missing the point. It's not just to "SteamOS", it's to Windows and MacOS of course too. So you can play all your high-end content games on your MacBook, your Ultrabook, or even your Windows 8.1 tablets, for example a 8" Dell Venue 8 Pro, and with running I mean flawlessly, full hd, 60fps, no input lag whatever. This is the biggest achievement in game industry in the last 10 years. And you can join Steam In-Home beta by joining the Steam group, they send out beta invites every few weeks.
I must admit I haven't tried for a little while, but this was definitely not the case when I last tried it on an FPS where having no input lag is pretty vital, you could definitely feel the delay. However for an RTS such as PA I'm sure it would work great (presuming you aren't some 200 APM pro ), although I haven't tried it as yet.
Nope, not for my setup, also it's still beta, there's no hardware encoding yet which will boost it even more. The maximum input lag is around 40-50ms all together (screen, input). You can play shooter with no problem at all. Im playing Bioshock Infinite orTF2, on my Ultrabook in bed with 60fps, over wifi :x
Sorry guys, but there is and always will be input lag. The speed of light is only so fast (299,792,458 m/s to be precise). Yes I memorized that. Don't judge me.
