Severe lack of units/structures in game?

    That's true, however I must argue it's not a severe lack of funding.I mean look at what they have made so far, it's brilliant!

    Choice is an interesting thing, and I'd say that PA has plenty. You have multiple avenues of ground war, you have multiple units types in each factory. Heck you can even use orbital in single planet games.
    While a lack of choice and a deterministic game experience is not enjoyable in terms of replay value, an over-abundance of choice leaves you confused with far too much not being used.

    I am going to make the assumption that the author of this thread wants as many units/structures as in SupCom and am going to say that I was by no means a good SpCm player, but I think I only used a VERY small fraction of the units on offer simply because they each seemed to do the same things but because there were so many traits etc e.g. armour / shields etc added to weapon types, they needed an individual unit to satisfy each.

    Point being - most of SpCm's units were not used from my experience yet I know that I have used every unit in PA (maybe except torpedo launcher) and that EVERY game I consider EVERY avenue of approach. in SpCm I found myself sticking to 'tanks' not 'Anti-Air-Shield disrupting-Armour-Piercing-Gatling Bot'.

    Because seriously... what?

    Also, I've played the game since June last year, I still find it enjoyable. And much easier to 'pick-up-and-play' whereas SupCom was much more, hmm, have I got 4 hours this evening to play a single game?

    Yet each to their own.

    In the end it doesn't matter how many unit's, buildings, tech trees, and stuff Uber release..
    One of Uber's main aim's for this game is "mod-ability".
    So there will be plenty of user created content to fill these gaps.

    Most of these mod wont be available or possible until release, but they will get made as it's not too hard to do if you have the skills.

    I think there a enough units on ground, but the game needs more options in the orbital battel, we will get that with Unit Cannon, and maybe Uber will come up with some other stuff ,we dont know about :)

    There will probably be a couple more orbital units specific to gas giants. This game is seriously getting big!

    Lack of funding not really. It has been one of the most successful Kickstarter project of all time, and in a less than a month it raised almost 3 millions USD (Kickstarter plus PayPal). When they aimed to raise 900.000 USD.

    In addition to that, you have to calculate more than a year and half on Steam for an even higher price. Still a Best Seller on that platform. For comparison here a list of the most expensive videogames - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop

    There are other reasonable reasons why the unit roster appears to incomplete.

    I would say, patience, and we will see more variety soon enough.

    Plus, there will be mods.

    If it doesn't have at least one billion dollars it's a severe lack. The game is that awesome.

    PS. The most expensive video game made until today, did cost 265,000,000 USD. Way too far from your *One Billion Dollars* minimal threshold.

    You should play vanilla TA again sometime! Without at least the Core Contingency expansion, it too is just plain boring. The bots and vehicles (and later hovercraft) in TA could have been pretty easily stripped down to 8-ish units total. But, the huge excess of land units is kind of part of TA's charm, I guess.

    I cant think of another RTS game that has had more then this. This game has alot of ways to wage war your post is sorta false.
