    Hello,

I've only been able to play this game once (actually may have been twice) and that was during early in the alpha phase. Since then I haven't been able to play at all. I get to launching into game and it crashes. It appears to happen during planet generation.

I've attached below any information that I have that I thought might be helpful.

    DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/ynfBcBpr
Speccy: http://pastebin.com/VAqhBRdd (Some sensitive information redacted, link expires in one month)
    Event Viewer Log: http://pastebin.com/bNHxgUGb
Coherent_UI Log: http://pastebin.com/tYLSf6Er (Looked possibly useful?)

Any help would be appreciated. I backed the game on Kickstarter and would love to actually be able to play. It looks like a blast.

I've got a similar problem-planetary generation always causes my game to crash, so I can never practice or get used to things, as I would like to before getting thrown into the mosh-pit of public games. I too also had a single game in the late-alpha, early beta stage. I can't recall exactly.

We seem to have very different setups though, at least in the graphics department.

Your problem is that you are running a 32 bit os, upgrade to 64 bit, everything will perform much better.

Of your available 8 gigs of ram you can only use about 3.5 because of 32 bit

The 32-bit OS was an accident on my part when I was setting up this PC. I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. (EDIT: Mostly on account of not wanting to take the time to completely reinstall Windows)

If the game will not run on 4GB (3.5GB really) of memory (which as was mentioned is the max memory 32-bit Win7 will allow) the system requirements for the game ought to be changed to show this. Either by saying that the minimum required memory is >4GB instead of 4GB or by saying that the game requires a 64-bit version of Windows to run.

Thank you guys for your help.

Well, the thing is that it depends a lot of the planet system as well. Lava planets and desert planets are quite the memory hog. So you can play PA, but just not on systems that become to large. For instance, a scale 4 planet is definitely a no-go area if you can only use 4 GiB. However, a few scale 2 planets will play just fine. Also, there is still a fair amount of optimization left to do, which will reduce the memory requirements too in time.

The game does run with 4GB systems, you are just limited. A friend of mine just upgraded from 4 to 8GB.

The thing is, multiple planet system use more memory than really small systems... so you should try that first.

I had a similar problem as well with the game crashing, however it looks like you could update your driver? I just noticed that it looks like Nvidia release a new driver here in feb for windows 7 at least.

    Hope that helps at least.
