Severe lack of units/structures in game?

    So far this is one of the most unique strategy games ive played in a while. But in these vast battlefields spanning across multiple planets there isnt many units or technology to play with. In terms of combat theres only a few defense turrets and few units to play with. Sure youve got bot,vehicle,naval,air but within these categories theres not many units. Perhaps im comparing this game to much to total annihilation but considering this games basic grahpics it shouldnt be hard to implement new units to make the game more fun or im going to get bored of this great game very quickly.

    Of course it's not that hard..but it's one of MANY things that still need to be done. So it might take some time till there is an interesting and balanced variety of units.

    But when you think of TA, are you thinking of the final version, plus expansions, that had a whole host of new stuff, or are you thinking of vanilla TA?
    I don't know, it feels like there are enough units, given the amount of extra stuff you can do, like interplanetary travel, orbital, smashing moons etc.

    So far I think there is ample amount of buildings, I mean more wouldn't hurt but there is a decent amount already. You basically have an ant-air (AA and Flak), anti land ( Laser Defence Mk. 1, 2 & 3), anti building (Pelter & Hulkins), long range anti building (catapult), anti-orbital (umbrellas), anti-ship (Torpedo launcher Basic and Advanced). With the power these defences are in the current builds, I think there enough for the gamma, however once they are balanced in later builds I hope to see more defences for niche roles.
    EDIT: As for dynamic units, I would love to see more! For example once you make an advanced vehicle factory the only thing you have to really spam out is levelers. Would love diversity, but as previously said everything will come with time, its still development.

    Lol I doubt they have a severe lack of funding, and we don't have a severe lack of units, just a little less then we would like.

    They're making a game for a few million dollars. Compared to most games that's an absolute pittance.

    By my count, there are already over 80 units. I still expect more, but do we really need that many more? This game already has a lot of depth.

    I disagree. I'd argue you need a story for context for any depth.

    I meant strategic depth. I'm not really sure what definition of depth you are using, but we may be talking about different things.
