So I'm interested in buying the game, but not interested in playing it before it's had an official release. I also notice that the minimum kickstarter price for the game was $20 and that early access prices are usually higher than release prices. So my question is, what is the intended release price of the game?

Second question is will the game be fully steam integrated like Borderlands 2? Where multiplayer is literally one click away and seamless, or will it require registering your steam copy with Uber's system and have an Uber account like a Ubisoft release?

in order to play online you will need a Uber account.

as for price, no one knows, though do not expect it to be less than $20. If I had to guess (emphasis on guess here) I'd say about what it is now at $30.

Well, in the live stream a couple of days ago, one of the leads on the project said that he didn't expect to see it as cheap as $30 post release, for a long time. Make of that what you will...
Also, yes you will have to create an uber account, but once that's set up you can play through Steam as normal, or use the uber launcher to play the game. Don't know about Steam integration, maybe someone else can help there.

Personally, I would take the plunge now.

I believe it will be $40 as that was the lowest pre-order pack you could buy from Ubernet website last year... So its safe to assume it will be that, and for all the game that you actually get, for that price its very good value in my opinion, and the mods haven't really started yet and we already have some good ones...

Thanks for the replies, even though nothing concrete was determined unfortunately. For me (not that it matters) I'm just gonna wait before I decide. I mean I could now just go on youtube and watch some gameplay footage, but if I do that now, I won't do so again later and if I form a bad opinion based on an unfinished game which could have changed, then I could lose in the end... so I'll wait.

I bought it today. I know pre-ordering in this day and age can be considered foolish, and rightfully so as more often than not some shady devs/publishers are just interested in cash grabs. They are a bane to gamers, gaming and legit pubs/devs that do good work. So, for me, avoiding pre-orders has been mostly about not rewarding shady things like that rather than saving myself money. But I do still sometimes pre-order games when I see (for lack of a better word) love has been put into the product... also competence lol. Like Dark Souls 2 - PC, I pre-ordered the crap out of that game, can't wait to play it. And like PA.

I saw yesterday in a reddit (I think) where one of the PA devs commented on how he was probably the most qualified person in the world to work on this game... not gonna lie, that ballsy confident post was 60% the reason I decided to pre-order, 20% on the price and 20% on vids, changelogs, descriptions and such. Wish I knew where that post was, can't find it anymore.

I eagerly wait for the game to be officially released (won't be playing it until then). Good luck Uber, please don't 4get to include steamworks into the game if possible with auto login when playing multiplayer, that would be very nice.

I've followed this game from the beginning and I'm certain you've made a good choice. These guys are the most qualified for this genre, with top people on the engine, artwork, music and ai (and I'm sure I've missed out some key areas there so apologies if I did).

Also they're taking more time to ensure the game is ready rather than releasing it half baked which is a very good sign imo.

As of i have heard before.. they want it for a minimum price of 40$.
But since u didn't buy it yet and its still 25 euro or dollars im not sure how steam does that with the prices... but its worth it :) since i bought the 90$ edition everything went well.. i mean not that it is wat i did but i mean, wat the devs said like updates that would come out + the live streams they did about wat they where going to change and the futeres of the game.. it all came true so far. And the best part is they are in for suggestions so if u want something or have a nice idea.. they will actually think about implenting it..

So far i am not dissapointed in the game and i think these 25euro is worth it .
I think i have answered your question if not tell me hehe.. Cuz i though your question was wat the price of the game is going to be when it is released.

Oh ... you already bought it i missed that well u made a good choice :) welcome to the Planetary Annihilation Community where dreams come true.

Well... Tell us what you think about it! As far as the devs saying they are the most qualified to make this game, you are now in a position to judge that by playing the game.I was unsure at first if they could pull this off, but I am continuously impressed with how often they make an outrageous claim that I don't think they could possibly do, and then a week later they have done it.

I know that I am late in replying to this thread although I have found Planetary Annihilation on Amazon for £39.99 along with a release date of 23rd of May 2014 - unfortunately as I am a new user I cannot post the link to it although it's on the UK Amazon site - I have tried amazon.com and nothing came up.

Very interesting! I can see that a release date would need to be set in stone this far in advance now that they have a retail launch planned as well. Could it be that we will get a release announcement soon?

We could get an announcement about that. Honestly I think would be a bad idea to tell us about a release date seeing what happened last time.;)

Well with a retail box, they will eventually have a hard date that they need to hit. Whether that is May or this was an error is still up to speculation, though.

So Planetary Annihilation will be one of the very rare example of a software being cheaper as a full product than as an Early Access on Steam.

I paid closed to 55 USD on Steam in December 2013. To get less of what others got for less on some other market places.

Some marketing genius at Uber should really explain this at some point to Steam customers, because it wasn't Steam to decide the final price or final product on sale. It's always been Uber.

Sadly this now discourages me in supporting new games.

Personally, I think it makes MORE sense to have to pay a premium to play the game before it is finished and have a say in how it turns out. I'm happy with what I paid, so there's really no more input I can provide :p

At some degree it makes sense. It goes against what I would do (and what I will do on Kickstarter soon for a project of mine). But I see your point.

Nevertheless do not forget the fact that for Uber we as early customers are an immensely valuable resource. And when I say immensely, I really mean it. Before these days, software houses had to invest huge budgets to collect users feedbacks before release. Those people got paid good money for doing the 1% of what we do in here.

There is a game that I'm so looking forward to play, Starbound. I gladly supported it, and I'm not even touching it before it will be closer to release, because I do not want to spoil the pleasure to play it.

With PA is different. But the risk to get bored of the game before it will be completed, may not be a thing in your case, but for many it is a tangible risk.

Many are paying an additional cost for playing a beta, bugged version of the game, plus helping in development. Also, many are paying more for getting less. That's simply not fair.

In every business there should be a fair deal for both parts. Otherwise, the product could be awesome, but it is still a bad business.

And when people are unhappy, no one make *good* business for long.
