Planet to Planet Endgame is impossible with smart people

Two different planets fully expanded, with ubrellas. What I find is its pretty impossible to seige a full developed planet. You can't nuke it obviously, and when you send in orbitals they get shot down by umbrellas. If you put up a teleporter for an invasion, they just nuke it, or they send in their hundreds of kestrels and take it out. So in essense, there has to be better planet to planet game enders than planet smashing. Some ideas I have are:

Interplanetary nukes (not just inter-orbital nukes between moons).

Interplanetary Cannons (Giant uber cannons to bombard another planet)

Anti-Nuke Satellites (This will allow people to do invasions without the threat of nukes because right now what happens when you send in an invasion is it gets nuked immediately)

Better obital drop ships (Orbital droppers that can take hits and carry tons of units).

That's because the game isn't finished.

All of your ideas have been suggested and/or are being implemented.

Hang in there. There's still lots of improvements yet to be made to PA.

There is two options:

• Smash something to the planet if you can
• Nuke the sh*t out of it, I have never seen anyone survive more than 9 simultaneously launched nukes at one spot (10 nukes is totally doable in end game, hell I can have like 20 ready in no time!)

Also if you have two unbreachable fortress planets and can't see the fame ending for the next 30 minutes you are doing it wrong (the system creation part, your gameplay actually isn't that bad). If I understood uber correctly there should be at least one asteroid per 2 planets. When I make systems I try to follow that rule.

I have nuked enemies with 35 nukes before

I really don't like the OP's emphasis on nukes. Surely you can be more creative than that...

I am just saying that if there are no crashable planets and the two planets are not in the same orbitals, nukes are out of the question, but anyways, as stated, the game is unfinished an many of the ideas I mentioned might be in the finished product. I just wanted to say my peace because I have run into this a lot and generally I just give up out of boredom. I try to send in a teleport invasion (gets nuked), I try to send in orbitals with orbital laser satellites (ubrellas take them down). This is of course assuming there are no other planets to crash into that planet.

sorry to be a wet blanket - I usually try to make my comments positive when on forums, but:

i want to express my dislike of you equating PA skill with "smart" in this thread's title. it's offensive and offputting, and as a member of this community I'd like to see us be a little more welcoming to new players, instead of insinuating that someone isn't smart if they can't defend a planet.

Right now I'd say put halley numbers on every planet except the main one. Smashing planets should always be a possibility until there's only one planet left.

Just being pedantic, but technically they ARE interplanetary nukes, the orbit is irrelevant

Anyway, the devs are planning more types of nukes (and ones that can go further), easier planet smashing, a unit cannon, planets that can have their orbit changed, and generally more balance before the game ships. So fear not

actually unless you are on two planets with identical numbers of mass points with two equally skilled players that's never the case.

one of the two will be able to stockpile more of something simply because he has more resources and pierce through.

ive always liked the idea of interplanetary missiles and cannons, like once Uber adds in orbital planet changing, you can have planets pass eachother and exchange fire =D

I know for a fact that inerplanetary nukes are coming! that was mentioend in the dev live stream as well as a multi nuke launcher, which could potentially mean multi mini nukes in one missile which splits off into several nukes, the possiblity of adding different nuke payloads or missiles that do different effects. I'm guessing a firebomb napalm type missile but could mean anything as well as better anti-nuke strategies like orbital lasers to shot out in come missiles and nukes...

I know Mavor was talking about having a nuke that split into 3 to counter 3 anti nukes at once. That sounds OP as all heck though, so will be interesting. Better make anti nukes cheaper

I believe so but haven't tried it myself though

Ye it works, planets go through each other and stuff but i works, and there's no limit to how much you can do it too.

Besides increasing the time it takes to get from planet A to planet B, why would one really care to change ones orbit?
