Did a search, didn't see anything. Which was surprising... The current anti-nuke is pretty underwhelming. It's common for people to not know whether their anti-nuke fired. There should be a unique explosion for the anti-nuke so we know that it fired. Probably the missile should even have more of a contrail. Hopefully the GPU changes will result in lots of improvements to the explosion soon, including one for this!
It fires a missile into a nuke, how is that not obvious enough? Do you want an explosion from a defensive mechanism that looks like it'd wipe out everything under its collision?
To be honest I don't see the need for a big explosion, I mean that is kind of the point. (nuke-no-goes-boom) However I agree, it's difficult for both parties to tell what happened, it'd probably be nice to have an alert of some kind.
I'm not saying super big explosion. Just at least something. I was envisioning something a little larger than a Pounder blowing up, plus a missile contrail.
Keep in mind most FX are still pretty temp. We are still building tech to make them cooler (at the same time as optimizing what's there which sidetracked us).
Agree i need to know if they shoot down my expensive nuke so that i can send in bombers to punish them, I would also like a update of when one has been fired (supcom strategic launch detected!)
It would be additional work albeit that it works already, but I am sure if it wasn't put in, a player would put it in... but it should probably make a unique fire or hit sound, and a lingering special looking explosion or smoke effect. Like a firework or something. I ESPECIALLY have hard times telling if nukes have been fired at my antinukes, and if I do notice I have a hard time telling how many I have spent and how many I have left. Knowing how many I built, if I could be for sure I correctly heard the antinuke go off and saw the shadow correctly, then I could be sure I actually have another one to spare. Right now, I just build generously and play it by ear, if I get overwhelmed with nukes it is because I was getting more nukes fired at me then I thought and didn't realize it. And yes, one can anti 5-12 nukes and not realize how many he has countered, and yes that is a case of hardcore turtling to counter that many nukes, but technically if it shouldn't be done I wouldn't be able to do it.
