I bought this game on Steam, and greatly looked forward to playing it (Starcraft on more planets + physics = awesome!), but when I opened the game, it stopped responding when the disclaimer loaded up. I noticed that the music would stop at that point, but if I had made it as far as the tutorial (by clicking very fast), the audio from that would keep going. I reinstalled the game, restarted my computer, and updated my drivers. Any advice?

By default game is running on integrated Intel graphics and drivers for this one is still outdated:
To update drivers download and install "win64_153314.exe" from Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23639

I recommend you to get latest drivers for NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M as well:
    http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73216/en-us

Also I recommend you configure your drivers to run it on Nvidia GPU. For details check "Laptops and hybrid graphics" section in this topic: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/864980278116578701/

    Ok, so:

When I try to run the Intel Driver Updater, it says the driver is not validated for my computer, and to get "the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer." The nvidea driver says I need to get the Intel driver first.

Get ZIP version of driver ("win64_153314.zip") from same page and then install it by using this instruction:

Thank you for your help so far! But, now it says it cannot connect to uberent.com. Is this related, unrelated...

Bobby - Are you running an anti-virus, or do you have a firewall that's being particularly strict about what it lets through? School or corporate environment, or new router/internet that you may have installed?

Generally uberent.com unreachable means a DNS routing issue, which means your computer for whatever reason can't talk to our servers.

Actually, when I'm behind a proxy to sell nuclear launch codes for work, I keep getting logged out of the forums. When I try to post something it redirects to login 95% of the time.

Is there any other thing that could be blocking it? Both Windows Firewall and my antivirus's allow it.

Bobby, can you ping uberent.com? Which Anti-Virus are you using? Panda in particular was being very problematic with people playing, even with exceptions - we've issued a whitelist request to them, but we haven't heard back as of yet.

A ping test showed that it could not find uberent.com, or any website. How can I fix this?

Do you use any VPN, proxy?

If not I recommend you to completely remove anti-virus and test ping without it.
Possible it's mess up your networking somehow.

Uninstall all anti virus software and just use ms security essentials and defender, both come with Windows.
You will get less virus and better performance. Anti virus programs are joke bloatware.

You're using their closed source OS, is there any way to trust them more?

Resting your computer's integrity on their AV. 25-30 years from now I'll say:
"Uploading your consciousness to their cloud servers?"

MSE it's one of good Microsoft products that don't contain useless bells and whistles that Kaspersky and other BS bloatware full of. There days it's so easy don't get viruses, so I seriously doubt anything more than MSE is required to anybody.
