Alliances are awesome.. its great to be able to finally be in control again of my own forces and econ while still being in a team with someone.

One Idea I had was that Alliances share their positive econ with their partners.

Now let me be very specific for a moment.. only positive econ.. and perhaps only a % so lets say 50% So if you are doing amazingly but your team mates are struggling under the heal of others on another planet you can at least provide them the boost they need to keep going.

Sharing only positive econ with the rest of your team would allow you to do your own thing.. with econ benefits of being in an alliance without the annoyance of tanking everyone it if you decide to push out 50 nukes and murder your econ

    Your thoughts are desired!

I belive this is either already in or on its way for alliance games. They are also going to have the "give in bulk resources" option.

the streaming nature of the econ doesn't lead itself to gifting large single amounts.. you need to assume your partner has storage and they might not. now if it’s a ok.. bleed of x% of my econ to this player *that is settable in UI on the fly* basically same thing.

I'd be amused if you could loan energy to other players.
I.e. Send them 10,000 metal when you have a surplus, then destroy their storage just before the 'loan' comes due, stalling their fabrication until their income pays off the loan.

Though the IMF might think we were mocking them!

atm, the way I think the system is set up is if your econ is full, and an ally has a deficit, you will automatically share your excess econ with them so that they are stable. this is what shows up in game when you know you're running a deficit and all of a sudden, you income matches your outcome and the net is 0

Yup, it's in. The one thing that is missing and will be added is giving units to allies.

This is a confirmed feature and we'll see options and stuff for this very soon.

I would recommend that you check out the FAQ and the Confirmed Features list.

This system is already implemented from what I have seen. The ony thing that I do not like is the fact that 100% of your excess goes to your ally all tge time. I would reduce this to 90% when your storage is empty so you can replenish it.

Pings don't seem to work between non-shared teams (and half the time they don't even work between shared teams) That should probably be fixed as well...

Have not had a problem with pings yet just I noticed when trying to crash planets Does not work anymore or it does and is very buggy. Gamma still has alot of bugs to work out. But the UI looks good.

The way FA worked it was it would only go to team mates when your storage was full, the resources that would otherwise be wasted

Well I think that helping an ally not stall is more important that sitting or resources, but it is also important that you build up at least a tiny amount of storage so you yourself aren't vulnerable to rapid fluctuations.

The way the Spring engine deals with resource sharing is what we need here (it's a very elegant solution)....

The spring engine has a little red marker on your storage bars which can be moved to any position by right clicking on the bar. Anything above the marker is available to your allies (and is *only* taken if they haven't got full storage) anything below the bar functions as normal. The point is it allows you to set your own minimum safe energy and metal levels (you need some energy storage in particular) and the system will fill up to your set level before sharing anything. I'm hoping Uber will implement this as it gives granular control to the player over how they want to share their resources.

I was always in favor of a diplomacy system.

First off, this allows you to ally and unally with other armies under the same team (but keeping the individual army), or even joining the armies together (which is an undoable commitment).

Second off, it allows you to assign units over to another faction, because I had a game last night where I needed an ally to use an orbital fabber on another planet and another time I needed his instead (teleporter linking needs same faction), and after I lost a resource planet I was highly negative and needed a player to assign me some power generators, and after I got power all the metal spots on-planet were taken so I also needed some metal assigned to me.

Would increase quality of life, could be a pregame lobby option to turn on/off.

We need to have the OPTION of enabling the ability to pick up a teammates commander with transports or orbital transports during alliance scenarios. And just like the concept of Orbital Shipyards, just because other people don't want it doesn't mean it can't be implemented and the option to enable or disable it be included.

It was a pretty important feature in Total Annihilation. Sometimes one of our commanders was in trouble and the other teammate would send a transport to evac the commander to a better established base to rebuild.
