No problem, I think you are doing an amazing job here!

The minipatch that came out today has changed some things for me. Now the game actually starts and in the menue everything is fine. But when I'm starting a game or try to create a Planet system it crashes.

So that is kind of a little progress that has been made^^

I will upload the crash dump, maybe it will help.

    Okay thank you very much.
I have an OEM Version of W7. I thought thats only for 1 Version 32 or 64bit. i will try to upgrade it.

After the patch i can not open any game. After i clicked "Create Game" the pa.exe stopped workin.

Unfortunately your laptop have 1st generation of Intel HD graphics:
    Code:
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
    Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
This integrated graphics lack of features game need and not supported. :-(

    Problem caused by outdated drivers:
    Code:
Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
    Driver Date/Size: 12/17/2009 15:50:56, 4684288 bytes
Here is very big and complicated how-to on updating those:

I'm personally recommend go to "Non-official methods", then remove existing drivers as explained and then install one using my link to installer.

Hey, thanks for all the help you're giving SXX! I'm having a similar problem: PA crashes when I try to start a game. I can get to the menu fine. I think my problem might be outdated drivers, but I've looked and I can't find a suitable update for my card. Can you help me? AMD seems to say I need to get an update from HP, but HP thinks my card is up to date.

You have integrated graphics card enabled and drivers for this is outdated:
    Code:
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
    Driver Date/Size: 12/14/2012 01:42:34, 12615680 bytes
To update drivers download and install "win64_153314.exe" from Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23639

But possible you want to disable this graphics card in your BIOS and reconnect your second monitor to Nvidia too.

Hey, me again. Sorry to be annoying. I've tried to follow your instructions for unofficial updating but when I look for AMD/ATI stuff in the uninstall page of the control panel there is nothing. No Catalyst stuff or anything. I've noticed I could use the uninstall option in the device manager, but I'm wary of doing this. Could I use the uninstall option in the AMD install manager in the program you linked to?

You might do that without any risk. Worse thing might happen you'll get weird screen resolution. If you remove AMD driver standard VGA driver will be used instead, it's obviously not support 3D, but you'll able to install drivers and browse websites just fine.

    Yes you can.

Same problem here, PA.exe stopped working. (steam)

Here a few things I already tried to fix the problem:
-updated grafics card driver via manufacturer website
-checked if sound card drivers are up to date
    -network/firewall all checked
    -DirectX 9.0c redistributables reinstalled
-.NET Framework 4.5 already installed and working
-computer restarted ..not just once *sigh*
    -started game via "..\Steam\steamapps\common\Planetary Annihilation\bin_x64\PA.exe"
    -started as administrator
All without success. After not even one second i get the error message PA.exe stopped working.

If there some things I should also try, let me know.
Attached are my DxDiag and the log-file from "..\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log".
One thing I dont understand is that my DxDiag still says that my driver ist from 2/8/2014 19:34:51, but I literally just installed the latest. Additional the website also says now that ive got the latest installed..
Any idea what I could do now?

Edit: If you also need the crash dump file, let me know I'll upload it.
