Gamma adds the first bricks to more "social" features. How do you think it will evolve ? Features, I presume we'll see in future: - more detailed stats (number of games played, stats per game, type of game, commenders used, etc.) - public profile page with stats, badges, commanders, etc. available on a web page outside the game - may be some awful "share to facebook" button - some experience/rank system used for matchmaking - unlocking new commanders with experience/rank - clan management system - will be a part of the online galaxy war (a map with your area of control ?) There is some very good potential in it and we can expect some things like what we already see on some recent game like Battelfield 3 and 4 but at Uber level ! ^^
It would be nice if they added a way to share planets and systems with other players. I have a way to do it as a mod, but that's just temporary. Garat said last night that it is a planned feature but they haven't had a chance to do it yet. Are they? they're robots and most of them don't even look human. I don't think of the tank commanders as male or female.
All imperial class comms look masculine. And others are named and talked about as males. And while robots are technically genderless, visuals and attitude can make the gender pretty clear. See: Well-E/Eve, Portal2 test robots, etc. Why do we always have to think about female characters in that way? I would like to see Fem-comms, but I don't want them to be literal sex-machines.
But it's a video game! I thought all women were required to go into battle wearing nothing but a bikini.* *Note: I'm being sarcastic here. I'm really tired of this kind of thing in video games and this is my way of pointing out how absurd the trend is. Let's get a real female commander in this game! Not a sex object, but a robot with a giant gun and a nanolathe that just happens to be feminine.
