Steam Alpha-Beta badges/commanders not working?

I bought it from Uber directly, so I dont have this issue, but some steam users are indeed reporting that even though they bought it from steam during the alpha/beta time periods, they lost their commands and badges.

They're currently having some difficulties with that.
