All mod developers should list out what game version they've tested their mod with. Simple. And helps people know that the mod won't break the game.
That's what we've been doing. PAMM has a version number for each mod and we re-check as soon as we can every update.
Right, but we have been going through the mods one by one all day and reporting their status in the new build.
Hm... haven't seen that. I'm talking about a little post that's added to the original post so players don't have to search through all of the posts on a thread.
No, because the update log talks about features. I just wanted an easy way to know of the mod has been updated to be compatible with the latest version of the game – if it needed to be updated at all.
OMG just consider if it doesn't say it's not or that the version numbers isn't out of date that it is compatible. we check our own mods more than a few times a day.
We're working on fixing them anyway. If a mod doesn't work for you and it hasn't been reported, please report the bug.
This request is coming from my experience with WordPress Plugins. Not everyone is quick to update the plugin. It's just a suggestion that will make browsing the mod forums easier – that's all.
We could create a web page that lists all the mods and the recent PA builds in a table - rows are mods, columns are PA builds, and the cells would be buttons for voting whether the mod works (like voting in StackOverflow). There everybody could check whether a mod is compatible.
PFFF me and @proeleert and @cptconundrum are actively bumping every single Gamma-proofed mod. Just look at page one of the MOD page. that's all your gamma-compatible mods right there for you.
I'm trying to do that with PA Matches. Been busy, but redoing, expanding, and improving the Mods Section of PA Matches is next on my list. I'm not just talking about today. Or just this update. I'm trying to improve the quality of this subforum. It's just a request for all of the mod creators to improve the quality of this subforum for the long term.
I like the idea of having that on pa matches. The process we use of this forum is probably good enough though. The only thing I might change would be to keep a news item at the top of the pamm news list right after every update and list any mods that are seriously broken. However, even that takes time. This will all be sorted out in a few days anyway. A lot of work goes into keeping mods running after a patch. @Cola_Colin got hit hardest this time around and we probably won't see much of him until he either fixes PA Stats or shows up in the news dead from a heart attack. Checking mod compatibility and making the news available is a high priority, but there is so much to do!
I need to figure out how to tap in to PAMM to pull update logs, compatibility, and the like. Tell me about it... I can't implement half of the features I want to because I don't have the time. Gotta pay bills, so I need to work.
