    Anyone heard of the Myo?

This was a controller that we showed to some elementary school kids to get them interested in STEM. I say it was super effective.

I've heard of it. I'm interested to see how good it is.

The Myo is cool, but the video is heavily scripted. I have my doubts about its actual practicality.

How do you tell your computer/robot/MP3 player what each hand gesture is for? There's a set-up step that is completely left out in the video.

Also, 0:07 into the video. Looks like GoW. How does the dude in front of the TV tell the character to move anywhere?

The same way you rebind keys....

"press key to bind to [shoot things]"

"make gesture to bind to [play smooth jazz]"

Higher sticks makes it easier to make minor adjustment and there’s less physical distance to move to an equivalent point on a short stick.

    Who remembers the Atari Lynx?

I recall it had buttons at the top and bottom of the right side of the console so it could be used left or right handed/inverted..

That, and they're all atrocious designs. Why use a Nostromo when you can use a regular keyboard? And if you want a decent mouse, the Zowie line (which Pill converted me over to) is generally a good choice, since the design is simple, the sensor is great, and most importantly, it works on Linux with no effort.

Those peripherals just look kinda tacky and tryhard. Except the Logitech, but too many side buttons

I've got a RAT7. It's pretty good - feels solid, despite all the moving parts and the very open appearance of it.

Never used the side scroll wheel.

However, you can't use any of these on a lounge in front of the TV. I'm interested in console controller designs, not wanky PC mouse designs.

Attach one of these to one of your armrests.
