    good evening guys,

I wanted to talk about the inferno and the vanguard a little. i absolutely love the inferno, but i feel the vanguard is a little out of place. do we need two flame tanks (one being a straight upgrade from the other)? i know the vanguard is the T2 meat shield, but couldn't it be something else like a tank destroyer with a stationary turret, or a heavy barreled laser tank? something.

this is just my opinion, thoughts are welcome.

I agree, but do we change the inferno, or the vanguard?

I'd say Vanguard. Or whichever is T2. There's more options for what ludicrous weapon to stick on it.

    Agreed.

    EDIT: Suggestions:

Hacker Tank: Fires a em beam that disables enemy vision range within it's radius, preventing them from shooting back, but is also armed with a dox machine gun to skirmish with.

Carrier: Carrys 4 floating drones armed with machine guns, they can move a long range, but are vulnerable to AA, but are free and easy to replace.

Magnetron: AOE AA weapon, very little damage and dps, but a large AOE and slows enemy aircraft being hit.

Or, on the Vanguard... wait for it- two flame turrets. I'm not sure whether I'm kidding or not. Actually, if they could fire in independent directions, that'd be pretty different/awesome for crowd control...

The problem is the crowd is usually very fast.

Very true. And I don't think one unit should be able to do it all anyway. But two high DPS turrets. Maybe give it like 1.5x the range of the inferno as well, and make it a bit more expensive. Dunno, I agree more differentiation would be nice.

The vanguard already has a built-in radar, which makes it different, but I agree that it needs a different weapon. The model and the name make it seem to me as if the vanguard should have a shotgun weapon of some kind... close range, fairly high damage, shoots 3 or 4 shots in a spread, and low fire rate.

The vanguard should be a heavy tank with a medium-small ranged plasma cannon (green blob) which melts through units with a slow rate of fire and some splash damage. But the best feature of this type of weaponry would be that it'll melt through enemy unit's core destroying even its wreckage so your supporting units dont have to go around and break formation over enemy wrecks.

Hopefully the inferno will be able to lay flame on the ground putting some minor splash damage on units as they run over the scorched area...

Btw, while we're talking tanks, what do you guys think of a tank with an electrical weapon which stuns enemy units for half a second or whatever...

Stuns are cool, can the unit defend it's self with the stun or what not, or will it fully require an escort?

I think the stun should have some damage maybe like 50 damage ( a little over half the HP of a dox) but yeah it would need an escort against heavier opponents. (Also it would take away the role of the leveller a bit if it was too good...)

I have been thinking the same exact thing shot force.

The only thing I would really like the vanguard to have is the high HP damage soaking ability. Gives it real merit to having flame tanks along side to do the real DPS.

The question then becomes, What weapon will it have?

Well. If the flame tank is the weapon. Why not a supplement to? How about a napalm discharge weapon. Where the vanguard coats units in oil and gives an increased boost in damage for the flame tank to utilize.

    Suggestion:

D-gun carrier: A large spinal mount disintegration cannon mounted on an ever larger base vehicle, no turret, medium range, slow turning speed, costs 1500 to charge it's weapon, has a 20 second cool down after firing, lot's of HP, rather slow.

Designed to tank fire, and if possible, blow a cone shaped area out of a base.

Best counter: dox who move faster then it turns.

Not digging the vanguard model at all lol. id personally keep the inferno, that's a gorgeous tank. but what ever if ever the vanguard changes the built in radar should stay.

What if the vanguard had a neon tractor beam that pulled in units for the infernos to burn to bits.

I think it would be pretty cool

Magic is just another form of technology anyway.

EDIT: yes, loving the ideas guys, this is what T2 needs, crazy additions and ways of mixing up the standard roles.

T1 does it plainly and simply, T2 does it crazily and differently. But both can be used interchangeably.

What about a destruction only nano lathe? can rapidly deconstruct units and buildings at close range.

why blow up the wall, when you can reclaim it?

    You mean the reclaim function?
Id love it if engineers did it automatically to enemy units in range!

I feel like the vanguard should maybe replace the leveller and inferno entirely. It is a bit of a specialized unit. Right now you have shitty tank and better tank, and shitty flame tank and better flame tank. It should probably just be tank and flame tank.
