Strategic icons for buildings It would be great if one could still see the icons of enemy buildings when they are hidden in fog of war. Currently you only see the building. This is sometimes very hard if the planet itself is very dark. The icon would stay as long as your intel does not tell you that the building is gone, like the model itself. Selection helper It would be nice if there where more selection filters. Currently the game decides if you want to select buildings or fabbers or combat units. It would be helpful if there was a way to only select land, so that you do not accidentially catch your patroling planes. Another nice thing would be if you could add units to a control group. Currently you can only reassing the entire group. This is slower then just selecting a bunch of units and pressing shift+ctrl+1 or something. What I also would like. A way to deselect units via boxing. Sorry if this already in the game. In that case I just did not realize while reading the key-bindings.
There are key bindings for selecting all land/air/naval/combat units on-screen. Not quite boxing, but with zoom you can achieve the same thing.
No, these are not quite in game. There is quite a few people who would like enemy structures to leave behind strategic icons. I agree that the ground can be quite dark and figuring out what the building was is somewhat difficult.
Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyy .....bejesus that's five times now : https://forums.uberent.com/threads/different-blips.49424/
I thought this was "confirmed" to be in the next build. I've been looking forward to it for some time.
I actually would like for units and structures that you have intel on to remain visible and animated, so that the client basically extrapolates what is happening underneath the fog of war. So if you have radar coverage, and have scouted the units, then they will stay visible until radar coverage is lost, then if you regain radar coverage after losing it, they will return to being generic blips with no visibility, until you scout them again visually. For structures you would see them getting "destroyed" by artillery or nukes, as if they were there, based on your last scouting information. This would happen even if they have been destroyed by someone else while you weren't looking. Supcom had a great thing where you could attack structures through the fog of war, and it would extrapolate when they would ordinarily be destroyed. This information only showed up in the strategic icons though, and it would be nice if it would be fully animated. You could only confirm the kill visually or with radar coverage though. If it was repaired or rebuilt, or even destroyed beforehand, you would not be able to tell just from this.
First one is a confirmed addon. Second is a popular suggestion and will likely be added. Gonna be awesome.
https://forums.uberent.com/threads/suggestions-ideas-for-strategic-icons.56120/#post-863584 I remember seeing that playtest too.
Pass. I don't know if Brian was doing his summaries then. Probably is. Seems like an age since the end of January. But honestly, it could be any. I watched some of them, I don't recall which I did and which I did not. You're looking at playtests during January. Unfortunately Uber absolutely spammed them. I think their thread is pretty well maintained, but not a 100% sure.
A loading bar for the planet generation would be nice. So you at least have some sense of how long it's going to take. Or hell, just some debug output so you can see what sort of stuff is happening. Just anything more than a little spinning icon to tell you stuff is going on...
