Fabricators Forget What They're Doing

    I have an extremely common issue. Advanced Fabricators get stuck behind basic fabricators who are standing by the metal spots they can't build on so they Advanced Fabricator can't get any closer to start building.

    Run into this pretty much every game where the Advanced Fabber gets stuck and never starts building the Advanced Metal Extractor, so the basic fabbers in front of it stand around doing nothing, blocking the path.

    Anyone else run into this?

    I've heard of this before in a video, possibly one of the Uber playtest streams (which would make it an officially known issue) but I don't build enough fabbers to encounter it myself.

    I think they actually talked about it in a recent stream. Aren't you the guy who keeps track of all this stuff?

    Getting stuck on random things seems to be a general issue with flow fields, happened a lot in supcom2 as well. Just not as noticeable because you usually didn't have swarms of engineers.

    My teleporters sometimes get jammed. This never happened before the flow field patch. Like units just get jammed up on the ramp or sometimes I think under the ramp and the teleporter basically stops being useful and I have to build another one. Shutting it off does not un-jam it.

    This especially happens if I have the exit waypoint of a bunch of factories in front of the teleporter.

    I also kind of suspect that this kills sim fps. Like units are taking up too much processing power trying to find a position to be in but it's just one huge traffic jam. Had a game earlier where I was jamming units in front of a teleporter and the game majorly bogged down. It seemed to let up a bit as a grabbed units from the pile and moved them away, but I haven't tried to reproduce.

    The devs noticed this in one of the recent streams, so a fix should be coming "soon." A workaround is to make the regular fabbers assist the advanced fabber, so that they will walk behind it.
