This gets brought up from time to time and should continue to be brought up from time to time.

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/233250/

Give PA a good rating on Steam. It helps the developers make money, which helps the game grow, which makes it better for us.

If you've already rated PA on steam, then go mark other ratings as helpful/unhelpful accordingly.

Let's do all we can to make PA awesome!

Or you could just give it an honest rating based on its current state instead of what is promised. A few words on the current downsides such as the network architecture, absence of player-hosted servers, work-in-progress balance, would go a long way towards addressing the concerns that will no doubt be raised over time and might be blown out of proportion due to PA being publicly available.

Never said to leave a false rating.

I said leave a "good" rating.

And in my opinion an host rating is a good/glowing/great/awesome/whatever rating.

Even with the downsides of Beta, Planetary Annihilation is still a better game than many of the games on Steam.

Giving a rating for a game that isn't finished is pointless.

I never understood why Steam allows Early Access games to get a rating and review. Do those ratings and reviews carry over once the game is released and out of the Early Access program?

Also what's the point in rating something that isn't final?

To make it sound good lol.

The reviews on PA are very positive. They all say *this is in beta so beware* and then *GAMEPLAY IS AWESOME you can SMASH PLANETS*

    :)

I also believe that Uber folks deserve a thumb up for the dedication and talent they're putting into the game.

As soon as we'll have the new build, I'll rate it. Because the new update is bringing in so much goodness that it is time for more people to join the party.

Also, Uber folks are proving that a different models (a very successful Kickstarter campaign, and a great attention to the community during alpha and beta phases) can work. And indeed, work pretty well.

Yeah. They already deserve a good review. Can't wait to see the game completed :p

Idk, I hate ratings in general, because nobody plays anything good, they all hop aboard crap games and leave me stuck with a low population in good games. "Play strategic and difficult games? Nahh, I want to play Call of Duty or Battlefield, and then compare everything according to those 2 games and trash them as cheap imitations." "What? The game is in Beta? Well, it doesn't look as good as a AAA title from a distant perspective, so I will trash it..."

That being said, at first Steam reviews were garbage because nobody liked the price-for-beta when its clearly stated it is a carry over of kickstarter. Then a lot of us rated it, and we left it honest reviews, told people it has bare features at the moment but was in development A LA Minecraft or Kerbal or Starbound.

It would be BEST if nobody rated it, but it would also be best if some of us didnt use vulgar derogatories and throw out poop at our computer screen. Since SOME of us won't refrain from BOTH, the next best answer is all of us try to rate to give a more neutral score rather than one smeered with monitor-poop.

Steam does allow you to change your rating down the line and edit your review, so you can create one now and update it when the game is finished no problem.

    Just remember to update it.

If people are exaggerating it fullscale, and have no intention of coming back from battlefield to play this game, do you think they will remember to change their rating down the line?

Tsk, I think ratings should have a report feature. Spam, falsified info, and age of post, can all be reported. Reports are deleted accordingly. Because the internet has been filled with trolls since 2008 at least...

I do agree that there should be a way to report it or something so that bad ratings due to something that gets fixed don't effect things.

    No one remembers though.

Meh, I assume you are rating it for what it is right now. And as a beta product, I feel it is worth a good review, and will rate it as such.

Rating it before it's finished and yet it's still better than EA's practices.
(Wait, did I just compare Uber to EA? That wasn't supposed to happen...)

EA isn't as bad as the internet makes them out to be. They still publish, and sometimes develop, the best games around.

I wasn't talking about their games, I was talking about their business practices.
