Apparently words are hard. I meant to say that trying to find a time for everyone is hard.

Trying to work for a tournament on everyones schedule across the world is impossible.... I try as hard as I can get get as many people into international tournaments. I'm sincerely sorry to Australia and Asia and the inability to play in tournaments unless you are up at 4-5 am for the start. when the population of competitive players increases to the point to where I can host tournaments in Europe evenings and also in American evenings so that Australia can take part. or mid day Europe so that Australia has night time tournaments. working on getting people across a whole world with 24 time zones into sections for anything is hard.

choosing to watch over paid cry babies is your choice, as working on Satrdays is mandatory for most people......

Please keep the discussion alive not an insult contest.

I realize that the current tourney schedule needs changes for times and also for days of the week. So I will move some around. Probably move some of them to Sunday and Friday. And then move one or two to be american night time start and Australia night time start.

Beer4Blood is right, Sundays are a more compatable day. No 1 here cares about your crappy sports obession (which you can DVR anyway) and even less about you hanging out with your imaginary friend who's also always watching you anyway lol. It should be sunday. Also, maybe pick a time where it's 5am in the middle of the ocean so that people on most continents can play:

For instance, see where the international date line is? In the middle of the ocean? Well when its 5am there it's 9 am in the earliest part of Australia and it's 1pm-11pm in mainland North America. Not ideal for you as the host? Maybe stop being so selfish. There are ways to accommodate almost everyone.

That said, my disappointment wouldn't the sated by a 2v2. I want FFA tournaments!

You really love those FFAs, don't you? I'm just glad most other people realize those games can't possibly ever be competitive.

um.... the international date line you say... well. if we did say 4am at the IDL then thats 2am eastern australia and 8am-11am for north america and 4pm GMT. So Aussie still cant play, and the current time allows for mid day north america and night time for europe. if we do say 10pm IDL, 8pm eastern AUS, 2am PCT, 5am EST, 10am GMT-0. doesn't work. also 5am IDL is 3am eastern AUS, not 9am. its 9am to noon in North america, and 5PM GMT-0

FFA's are not something I am willing to do for tournaments, they would take so much time to set up. and organizing them and doing anything with them would be hell. if anyone wants to do it. by all means make one and give it a go. I will buy you bald cream for you

    That was a joke. Seriously.

I am not a ridiculous football fan who lets it get in the way of everything they do. Most people who watch football are like this. If it was during one of my team's games, I'll do the other thing :p

Honestly, its not that big of a deal. Really. Also, the obsession of both Europeans and Australians to point out how *flawed* the American way is needs to stop. Not on this forum. You want to go there, we go to TeamSpeak. Comprende?

    Moving on. Time zone issues:

I'm sorry. Australia is just so out of the way. If they moved it to the Atlantic..... :D

That being said, you guys got the short end of the stick. Sorry.

I do love FFA! It certainly is competitive, but it takes very different skills to be good. Skills I excel at. Deception, misdirection, laying low, Surprise attacks, playing enemies against each other etc. It's not a straight up swarm fest, but it certainly takes skill, I would say more so. Not only do you need to be good at PA, you need to be good at strategy in general

With so many tournaments scheduled, why not make a variety? some of them should be played on saturdays, others on sundays and a few in the middle of the week. That way, you can guarantee that a higher amount of players from the community will have played at least one tournament

Middle of the week can be really hard, many structured activities take place then and a lot of people have come from or will be going to work and don't have 4-5 hours to invest in a tournament.

A FFA is an unbalanced match, so it may not be an acceptable option for a Tournament.

However, if the planet size is around 400, and you put three players per planet, each match is gonna take 20 minutes something.

It may be used to create some sort of qualifications.
