We dont need to buff the commander or nerf nukes to stop double nuke snipes. All we need to do is get rid/nerf advanced orbital radar. As it stands when I have advanced radar I can see every thing including the com making it incredibly easy to snipe him. To fix this perhaps advanced radar shouldn't reveal the commanders position.

Maybe like in TA we will have commander cloaking eventually?

The advanced radar really does need a nerf of some kind. Be it increased cost and/or decreased vision radius.

I like this! It means they can't just swarm nukes to win!

Are you just going through the forum and bringing back every nuke thread all at once?

Nothing wrong with stimulating the conversation. When it's all over your face it's harder to ignore ;)

I know I suggested thread necromancy, but I was meaning more like bringing back a lost loved one. I didn't mean raise an undead army.

Instructions unclear; cast all the spells at once!

Necroing every thread ever on the same subject is spam.. not to mention the rules actually make sense, nobody wants to participate in the conversation when it's spread out over 5 threads or something.

Ok, you got a "like" because it made me laugh. At least you didn't get your penis stuck in the CD drive. It could have been much worse.

I know you want to make your point to everyone, but this isn't the right way to do it. The dozens of topics spanning the life of PA are proof that you're not the only person who isn't a fan of the Nuke-Anti-Nuke binary relationship and this isn't the way to combat it. If you rock the boat too hard you sink it. We want people to pay attention to the issue, but not be badgered by it.

You have a strong argument and are supported in concept by the majority of the community. If you want it to gain traction with the rest of the community you need to be persistent and consistent, but also polite. There are plenty of opportunities to express nuke reform without making a scene.

The real debate remaining is not IF they need reform, but what kind of reform they need. There's much less consensus there.

I replyed to every post meaningfully. I didn't start any new threads. If the don't like what I did they can feel free t change the rules. This isn't spam, it's an illustration in how important and un-addressed this topic is

To me, this says a lot. If hes so sure of how he wants them to work, and this is what we have? My confidence level plummeted. It's pretty arrogant to say you know whats best when everyone is telling you this isn't best. That's some Blizzard level crap right there...

In TA, I used to use a somewhat dubious tactic of loading roach bombs onto atlas carriers, spread them out into a long line, then fly them directly over someones base. The AA would shoot them down but the splash damage from the roach would damage building/units/turrets, etc.

It would also detonate any other flying roaches nearby, causing a chain reaction, that was sometimes, quite spectacular....something similiar for nukes would be pretty good, though maybe lessen the damage they do a bit first before they can chainreact...? Five nukes to kill a commander would be a good dps drop maybe..?

This could also open the way for MIRV Missile effect :)

(this tactic didnt work very often, but if the player on had limited AA, it was quite devastating) :)

First it is not he but them ... and not everyone agreed on changing the nuke mechanics
Its even more arrogant that you think you might know better then a team that worked on this stuff FOR YEARS .. what rts games did you work on yourself what mechanics did you build ... and do you realy think you change anything by attacking a person like this?
When there is one thing a community doesnt ever need then it is people with such an attitute like you have ...

I'm sorry you feel that way MrTBSC, that's my opinion though. I never claimed to be a game designer, but I am well seasoned at playing said games and qualified enough to know what is and isn't fun for me. Those are my observations, and hopefully it will be taken as constructive criticism. Surely being here is enough proof that I'm hoping for the best for PA.
