I was wondering when we are getting a new build? It has been a while since we have received a new build, and I would like to get back into the game (probably with trying out a new build). Also, one thing I expected was more complex planetary smashing. Perhaps bigger planets smashing into each other as opposed to meek moons. Or... a moon smashing into a massive planet won't kill everything on that planet. I would definitely like to see the planet smashing module expanded upon. I know it's too early to ask for the feature in the next few builds, however, I have not received verifications from the developers that they will indeed expand upon planet mechanics as opposed to just refining it. Also, a moon smashing into a moon should destroy both of them... this is a fundamental law of physics. If you are smashing a larger moon, it should not just leave a huge crater, the moon will still have a lot of mass merged with its new "home." What do you guys think about this?
I can't remember which dev said it (probably garat) but the answers to any question starting with "when..." are Soon Being worked on we're looking at it or not happening.
I have been gnashing teeth for weeks. WHEN IS SOON. :< I wanna play without getting bombed in 10 out of 10 games.
The Thread name asks one question, and the Poll asks another. You make some good suggestions which I agree with - If I have a max-size planet, a 3-Halley asteroid shouldn't kill everything on the surface. I'm sure UBER will balance stuff like this once we get other things in-game which could dramatically alter the role of asteroids *coughunitcannoncoughcough*.
Everything else what you said has already been talked about. The answers is yes, we will se an expansion on planets smashing eventually in pretty much the manner you are talking about (smaller asteroids wont kill a planet, I'm not sure if planets that get hit by a planet killer AKA a moon sized asteroid will or will not turn into lava planets), but there is always going to be a limnit to how big of a planet you can move.
I suppose that we, as players, are in no rush. Indeed it is a good thing to have to wait, so I can save some of my social life and have some work done for my customers!
