So you build up a critical mass of bombers and are heading straight to the scouted location of the enemies commander. The bombers then decide that all 50 should drop their payload on a dox on the outskirts of the base and results in a failed snipe attempt. I would like a snipe mode button or maybe turn automation off. I understand that automation has it's uses but sniping commanders and other targets can get annoying. At least for me Anyhows. Wonder if energy conserve works or will they fire but not reload. Will check when I get home.
It's saved my bacon a couple of times. Enemy's bombers dropped their payload on a single dox, leaving AA to murder them and Commander unscratched. The tears were delicious
I think, if given an attack command, automation should turn off. That is my development suggestion. No extra work on user, it is like a form of automation controlling automation. Also, if you don't see the commander and is searching to drop your bombs for him, turn attack off via hotkey then turn on when aquired.
They just need to be clever enough to realize that they are in a group and therefore only one bomber needs to drop bomb to kill one dox. Simple.
Yeah I believe this work this way but again not 100% familiar with this build. Only played a handful of games in comparison to other builds. Does hold fire work now?
Both were suggestions of how it should work. If you select an attack deep in enemy base, bombers should not automatically attack until they attack target. If bombers aren't selected to attack and just move, they should liberally use their bombs. Also, attack command SHOULD work, if it doesn't it still is a valid suggestion for how the game should work. If you want to fly into enemy base with bombers, but haven't selected a target, press A and fly around searching. If you find the commander and haven't been AA'd, press A and attack. Also, this needs to happen. With everything. Everything in the game. Artillery. Land units. Naval. Large groups of units. Everything.
