:D The PA ladder should give you 1 point if you win, and 2 points if you win by so much that you get them to rage. 10 if you can get a death threat.

No I know... It's a sad world. But at least it's better than youtube comments I guess.

There are always going to be childish people in this world, how you deal with them shows who you really are.

I try to loose with dignity, and usually I do. But when I loose because the phone rang and my internet crashes, well, that's just not fair!

Yeah it isn't but it's also not your opponents fault either so rage should never be directed at them. They won, that was their goal.

Generally, you have to lose quite a bit before you start to win. Especially against more experienced players. You're always going to encounter poor losers. Do what I do: Don't play with them any more. :) I learn far more from the games I lose than the ones I win.

When it comes to proper losing etiquette, one thing that kinda bugs me is I don't know what to do when it's obvious I'm going to lose but haven't lost yet, especially when I'm one of two players left in a FFA. As an example, if everything I've made has been destroyed except my commander and a few fabbers which are stuck somewhere after being nuked. I might be able to survive for several minutes like that, but it's ultimately futile.
Do I keep delaying the inevitable, trying to rebuild and heal in between interplanetary nukes? Surely the other player will get tired of that very quickly. Is it impolite to give up during a match, does it rob the other player of the satisfaction of 'winning' if I stop playing because I know I'm doomed anyway?

In that situation I just delete my comm.
I consider it "gentlemanly" to not waste the opponents time.

I know, I was making a joke. Unfortunately there is no sarcasm emote, and unfortunately my internet DOES actually do that. I never rage over chat though.

I'll usually call gg and ask if they want to play it out and watch the fireworks or end it so they can move on. Losing in PA can be great fun when the only thing you can do is sit back and watch robots explode.

I played a game against fellow Realm today. I don't normally, I am not that good. I had a teammate help muster up army while I framed strong structural defence with fast-rushed offensive structures, and even went for nuke which I don't often. It really felt unfair when it all came together. We still lost, but the one we beat did call the scrubby bait-and-switch nuke tactics and hiding behind broken t2 flak out. That isn't really disrespectful, really we were having a discussion before and were talking about respectfully feeling some strategies are unskillful so it was just opinion really.

Really, chess is considered full of dignity, and you delete commanders there, so that is one common way. The other common way is intellegent discussion of game balance, and that does in fact include that a tactic used was unfair. Then again, I only lost because I didn't carry it far enough and protect my teammate's production with my t2 flak, and stopped after fortifying my offensive structuring with t2 flak. Had I done that, and spread out my gil-es a bit more around my parimeter, I would have easily won the whole match.

Maybe that is more respectful though if you know the person, and less respectful to do to some random you just played, talking ugly torwards them.

I still appreciated it. The game is interesting in that field.

Either way, I do see a vast lack of insulting and poor sportsmanship in this game. Most everyone in an intellegent RTS is fairly friendly and thought provoking in their chat. God bless intellegent game players. Hardly ever see braindead and total-jerks playing PA and KSP.
