So my building bar at the bottom of the screen seems to have a glitch; only with fabrication units not the commander, and i've tried what i know to do. I've re-installed messed with video options and nothing. I have a link of what it looks like but i cant post it. Now i can click on the buildings listed but I lose access to advanced things such as nukes and what not. I'm assuming it has something to do with my graphics card or resolution settings but I cant seem to find the resolution settings. Anyone able to give me a hand?
The game needs to be played with a minimum resolution of 1280x720(16:9) or 1280x1024(4:3). The issues seem to be when the screen width is below 1280 pixel. Also there is a newer legacy driver out for your hd3800 series card. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64 The link is to the 13.9 catalyst legacy drivers with display driver version 8.97.100.11 released 15 oct 2013 Your DxDiag.txt shows your using a driver from 2011
Don't use direct links to drivers, they do not work. Correct link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64
My bad, the link worked fine for me, i didn't realize it was an issue. i'll post up link to legacy page next time.
So is there any way to fix this issue? Or am i doomed to this due to using a tv rather than a monitor?
Are you using TV at moment? Can you say exact manufacturer and model number? Unfortunately your DxDiag don't indicate that your monitor provide other modes, but I seriously doubt that your TV have native 1024x768 resolution. Most likely it's normal 16:9 which have to support 1366x768. With this resolution you won't be affected by problem. Most likely TV not provide correct mode list, so you need to manually force your video drivers to use non-standard resolution. Nvidia have built-in feature for that and AMD possible too, but I can't give you exact link. So you need to find out it on your own. PS: You can start to google something like "AMD Catalyst custom resolution" or if you connected to TV though VGA/HDMI then "amd custom resolution HDMI". There is tons of articles about that, but I not sure which of them valid for legacy drivers.
Also is the TV 4:3 (square) or 16:9. Some 4:3 tv's only support 1024x764 or 1280x1024. The game uses the desktop resolution, so to change the game resolution you need to set windows desktop to a higher resolution. The game uses a fullscreen overlay at the same size of your desktop instead of the traditional styled fullscreen that sets it's own resolution from within the game. If your TV cant use a resolution higher than 1024x768 i maybe able to make a mod that shortens the build bar so it fits onscreen but there may be other things that wont work.. i will post the mod soon if i can make it.
