In all honesty, I hated most of the crew on the Destiny.

I did like the *its sciency* bit, but they never really followed up on it with big reveals about why Destiny was out there (not the blanket reason that doesnt tell us anything).

If they had continued it, it would have been much more interesting, i think.

SG1 got weird near the end, but they ended it really well.

I haven't watched all of Atlantis yet.
Definitely on my list though.

Yes, Atlantis was at least fun, Destiny got better after the first soap opera season... I was so disappointed... but then season 2 got better than cancelled... ouch!

I thought the universe series explained quite well that the Destiny was sent through the universe manufacturing and seeding stargates. Imo the universe series was too mature for the majority of SG fans.

SG-1 and Atlantis, while both had some off seasons/episodes, are still some of my default "leave running in the background" TV. Love em. Universe I really wanted to love, but after watching Season 1, I just couldn't make myself watch any more. Just no consistently redeeming qualities to me. Which bummed me out. After Atlantis ended, had really hoped a new offshoot would keep it going.

Well, I hold out hope that someone will get it going again. Maybe RDA can be bribed to come back and EP a new series.

How did they find this stuff? Why were they looking in the first place? What's at the end? What's in the middle that is more interesting than a bunch of drones?

There have been rumours that a reboot of the Stargate film is in the works.

I've heard those rumours too. A trilogy of Stargate movies I believe. Anyway if it is true I hope they live up to the AWESOMENESS of SG-1.

But universe season 2 is so worth a watch, I personally like the drama of season 1 but 2 is allot closer to the classic stargate formula so I think you'd get on better with it....
