Just a mini update. Added just 1 track which I made today, more of an easy listening background track this time around. Alien World. Link is in the first post.

some bits remind me of the older commander conquer games. But it is definitely music that you can put behind a video game.

Thanks ballsonfire, yeah I think I definitely have an influence of some of the C&C music as I used to play C&C all through my childhood pretty much. I just did another track to celebrate the release for the retail artwork. I took my time with this one as I really wanted this one to feel part of the game rather just some music playing in the background so I decided to add more instrumental pieces to this track, I thought this one turned out quite good but of course you all are the judge of that, heavily influenced by the the new box art when I made this track and so I wanted to get it the apropiate name as well. Its a longer track of just over 7 minutes.

New track is called "Legonis Amendment" link in the OP.

    please enjoy!

This music really reminds me of Faster Than Light

Nice work, who knows, maybe you'll get others to start posting their tracks :)

Just listened to the first track... very atmospheric. Now you really need to make the Dub Step track they joked about in the Kickstarter pitch video :)

I actually think a bit of classical dub step would work well with PA (listen to 'Unsustainable' by Muse if you don't know what I'm on about)...

Add in some heavy rock guitar and I swear you've got a Nightwish track there....

I really like the mellow flow of Legonis amendment.

I think you should add a 4 bar or 8 bar of just the drum loop at the start of the track before the first part of any melody kicks in,
I like the drum loop, it would be nice to hear it solo as a drum only lead in.

There's definitely a lot of soft and relaxing themes. I can totally see this kind of music in a puzzle, 4x, empire building or adventure game, but for a high paced RTS? I dunno.

One thing about RTS games is that a ton of UI feedback comes in the form of sound. It's kind of an instrument all its own, one that you wouldn't want to drown out with too much competing stuff(this is of course highly subjective). Except for explosions. Extra bass always makes explosions better.

A MIDI keyboard or mash-pad is essential.. :)
And Music Maker has some nice addon instrument packs and pre recorded loops for download

go right ahead arth. all my tracks are available free for download !!!.. the download link is below the player for the tracks... I just do tracks for fun as a hobby i'll never ask for any money for em, if ppl like the tracks enough to download them, go on ahead just like it if I get credit and stuff if you ever use it for anything.

Thanks everyone for the comments, Max you definitely know more about magix music maker than I do thats for sure, I would love to get a midi keyboard and a mash pad, just sadly im extremely poor haha... even a cheap one I cant afford but I'm hoping some day anyway I'll be able to.... Magix has some awesome features, its simply the best piece of software I've ever used for music, Adobe audition is really just for editing existing sounds but I rarely ever use that now as all the pitch tweaking and advanced stuff you can already do in Magix anyway now. I dont recommend getting the one from steam though that just got released on there.

bobucles, thanks for the comment dude, hey if you like it to be more of a puzzle game, thats fine by me hehe... These tracks were all just inspired by PA. Though I did think my Legonis Amendment was more for PA though.

If you guys wanna post your own music in here, Max did on the first page, go right ahead, this isn't an exclusive thread for just my tracks, if you guys got music you made, go right ahead and post em, would love to hear :D

Whenever I make any more I'll of course post, thanks again guys!!!

A few of these sound a bit like the ambient tracks from Borderlands 2.
    Really good stuff.

    These sound really great!

I have a natural liking towards concept works because of the starcraft and Red Alert 2 soundtracks so I'm always interested in listening to game music. Anything that can keep a steady meter and gradual changes in form is good in my book.

In my opinion music with vocals can be distracting for game music, unless it is choral work. (Think epic, rejoiceful, battle-won, choral pieces. Like V-I progressions)

Hi peeps its been awhile since I last made anything and there has been several reasons why. For the most part I had some computer troubles for which I got a new SSD for, apart from being extremely ill for awhile and some other personal issues I am now back and making some more music if anyone of you guys are still interested. Just updated the original post with the new track Whispers! Was going for a much slower more mood specific with this one, a change of pace and bit of an experiment.

Hope you enjoy! (will have more very soon!)

In celebration of Planetary Annihilation reaching gamma and a suggestion asking to make a dub track with mixed in classical music this was the end result. My first attempt can do better but quite liked it though. Link in OP track is just simply called Gamma!

    Enjoy!
