Depends on your set-up. If you have a fast gpu it does not make a difference at the moment as PA is cpu bound.

GPU usage is very very low at all times in PA. Also at mid/late game turn graphical options to low, no performance difference. Obviously this will not be the case for all players as every one runs different cpu and gpu.
#183 I only skimmed through so I must have missed something, but it looked like team orange went for a 4 comm rush, but managed to just let you bomb the crap out of 3 of them with little to no resistance...where were the fighters, AA turrets, healers, anything? Seemed like a horrible mistake to make, given that they were taking some good ground with all 3 comms pushing forward.
If you noticed, they didnt change their move orders after they got thru the inital defense. I think they meant to just take out that first line of defenses that were creeping their factories. They noticed too late lol
I think a lot of the lag is server side/network bound I you look at the sim fps, it slowly degrades throughout the course of a game, and the sim is controlled by the server if I'm not mistaken. This game is neither gpu nor cpu bound. I've never seen PA use more than 30% of my cpu and my gpu is barely pushed at all.

I deleted my earlier post, but I'll say it once again for good measure: Congrats on the 10k Otherwise on the performance front, I'm on a Mac and have recently discovered the glory that is subsampling. I.e. -2 or 50% rez. Yah, everything is blurry as all hell, BUT my fps stays above 10 until the late game now. Woohoo, glory days again!!!! It's the little victories, amirightz?!?!?!?!!!!! Ok, well, maybe I'm riding the high that is: at least it's not totally broke, rite
I see how slow these big games get and it makes me nervous. I know there's a lot of optimisation etc. to be done, but still, it makes me nervous. I skimmed #187, but was that why you quit, or was it because of stalemate, or both?
Mostly a stalemate. It could have ended but the sim was going so slow it would take ages to build the necessary nukes to pull off a snipe.
