Will the Laser Satellite get a beam effect to it's attack? Instead of the current pulse it shoots out.
More like a red beam that shoots out from the satellite and reaches all the way to the ground from the satellite.

Kinda like the one in Supcom forge alliance UEF satellite.
    Pendaelose and blacksword13 like this.

For now we've been told to assume that all artwork is subject to change and revision - while that doesn't answer your question specifically, I'd be surprised if something so powerful doesn't get a more impressive-looking animation.

Keep in mind that Beams and Lasers do function differently(in terms of TA, SupCom and PA) so it's more than just a cosmetic consideration.

Isn't that because of ground lasers clipping with the planet? Orbital lasers shouldn't encounter any such problem.

I'm in favor of a longer-lasting continuous beam effect if only for clear, visual indication of "There's a laser shooting you!" instead of the perpetual WTF that's encountered when something vanishes or explodes randomly.

Not so much clipping as that it can lead to a weapon with extreme variety based on the size of the planet. Regardless they still function differently from a "standard" weapon, regardless of where it's located.

Besides from technical standpoints, I simply would love beams as well, especially from satellites and for the Umbrellas, that would be a nice visualization that something is going on... even when zoomed out.
