I've notised a bug that i can see trough the planet ( moon planet) when i zoom in very close. Cant add a screenshot now, maybe later.
I don't think this is an issue of my pc. I think this is only an issue on an mountain with high terrain changes. You could try it yourself. AMD-A8 3870 4 * 3 ghz GTX 550 Ti 8 gb ram DDR 3 (Btw any ideas why I can't play on high graphics? I have everything on medium or less and the performance is not the best... ( all driver up to date))
The DxDiag.txt and PA log file will help me assist you better. It also helps me match issues with others i have seen or may see in the future
So here is my dxdiag. And how can i find the PA log file? Edit:But i hadnt got this issue before the latest patch and this only happens when i zoom in very close.
It just good to have the exact hardware specs for issues found, I can't replicate the issue on my intel hd 4000. It may not affect all systems.
Max this is an issue with a planet height being too high and when you zoom in too close you can see through the planet, i have had this bug ever since i got the game in alpha
More details: when you zoom in the camera goes under the terrain and you can see details/plants etc of the planet
@FXelix With your in game performance not being good, What is your desktop resolution when playing the game, 1280x1024? Can you try this and take some screen shot's for me. 1, go to nVidia Control panel and set settings like this Vsync : Always off, Anisotropic filtering : Application Controlled, Anti-Aliasing : Application Controlled, Texture Filtering : Performance, Threaded Optimazation : ON. 2, start PA and set in game setting like this Virtual Texturing : MEDIUM, Headlights : HIGH, Shadows : MEDIUM, HDR : ON, Anti-Aliasing : off, Resolution : -1, 3, start a game on the beta system, press ctrl-p to show fps counter. 4, take some screenshots of in game fps counter and post here.
If you see that again save planet and game settings used. There already was such issue, probably this one is related as well.
So okay here are some screenshots on a beta system with 2 medium planets. In this pictures i havent got used the task manager for more ram usage for pa.exe, this is a little boost then.. My deskop has a resolution of 1024*768 pixels. I have used your settings ( my screen is sometimes flickering black now ( not often), maybe because of the new nvidia settings, maybe the texture filtering or so.) Edit: this is only a 1v1 and I have so worse fps but I think too this is the planet type with the worst fps at all... Other planets are a bit better. But with this settings it would be cool to have 30 fps :/
If your getting flickering turn VSYNC : "ON" in nVidia control panel, it should stop the flickering. Texture filtering should only affect texture quality, very low is very blurry textures and high quality has the GPU do extra passes on textures sharpening the detail in all loaded textures.
I'm not 100% sure, i'm thinking it maybe the way the AMD A8 cpu is handling the rendering thread. As far as i know CPU is handling most of the rendering process and GPU is handling most of the effects and post processing. Personally i think that if lowering the setting's in game and in your nVidia control panel isn't helping improve FPS then i'm likely to assume it's the CPU limiting the performance. I will ask a developer for their advice just to make sure,
