Behold. I am Mephilis, and I, as the title states, am having some difficulties. Advanced Builders: The building icons for them are barely visible at the bottom of the screen. This renders me unable to build nuke silos and any other advanced building that dosnt appear on the top line. Menu: I cannot navigate the menu unless I am doing something with a cancel button, such as new game. The back arrow at the top of the screen is non-responsive. Also I cannot create a game using my custom maps, and sometimes not even with a generated map. Another thing, I just bought this game from steam, where it said I would get a special Theta Commander, and as far as I can tell I do not have it. I do know how to switch commanders, and unless I am mistaken I have used them all... Alpha, Beta, Quad, Raptor... but no Theta... is that commander no longer available?
It sounds like you have the Floating UI mod installed, which is currently broken - I suggest disabling it until a fixed version is released.
Can you please say what screen resolution you have? I guess 1024x768 or so. There is task related to your problems, vote for them please: PA#2309 - Building bar below screen. PA#2814 - Task about back button problem. Don't go to the editor though lobby, it's bugged right now: PA#2687 Though if you load pre-made system it's should work fine. What is number of planets you have? It's not yet implemented. There also no limits for using different commanders at moment.
I don't even know what a floating UI Mod is Can you please say what screen resolution you have? I guess 1024x768 or so. You got it right on the money, should I change it? There is task related to your problems, vote for them please: I will look at those, thank you. .
Don't go to the editor though lobby, it's bugged right now: Though if you load pre-made system it's should work fine. What is number of planets you have? I have tried both making one before going into lobby and making one in lobby. First map I made I went nuts and made 30 or so planets, thinking it was too many I made one with six.... as a last resort I made one with two planets, each having its own moon. I also kept the planet sizes beneath the 'experimental' level as I couldn't even select those for a game.
It's not yet implemented. You can only do that if your monitor supported higher resolutions. Though here is how-to for Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-your-screen-resolution Game obviously won't load system with 30 planet because 16 is limit, for second part I guess problem might be related performance. Can you check how-to in my signature and upload your DxDiag.txt on forum? Just use "Upload a File" button under text input field.
Sadly I have windows 8. Yeah I figured 30 would be a bit much after I made it... I hope its not a serious performance issue as this machine is new... well mostly new. and here is the DxDiag.
Here is how-to for Windows 8: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor Also according to DxDiag your screen support 1366x768: Code: Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Native Mode: 1366 x 768(p) (59.973Hz) Just set 1366x768 and everything will work fine. You have outdated drivers on your laptop and possible game will work better if you update them. First update drivers for integrated Intel GPU: Code: Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 Driver Date/Size: 3/19/2013 20:31:47, 8647680 bytes Download and install 'Win64_15338.exe" from Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405 Then download and install latest drivers for NVIDIA GT 750M: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/71706/en-us If you don't do that yet you also need to configure your drivers to run game on discrete graphics card. Check this video how-to: If you playing game though Steam then executable you need located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planetary Annihilation\bin_x64\PA.exe
The game need's to be a minimum of 1280 pixels wide and 720 pixels high. Any smaller than those dimensions will cause some menu items to not respond to clicks or appear off-screen. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/system-editor-ui-bug.53343/ <-- old thread on the issue.. Here's is the issue on the bug-tracker if you want to vote to get it fixed. FS#2588
Thank you all for the help, its running fine now and thank you for the driver updates, helped a ton ^.^
