But have you ever tried the assist command instead? It does what you seem to be looking for.

Brian, I'll make a video of what we mean.

How do you display the cursor in a video? I made a beautiful video, but the cursor ain't visible.

If you're Youtubing, you could try using YouTube annotations to point to things.

    True.

I made an even more beautiful video. Ignore the mumbling at the end. I'm just noticing that the fabbers are simultaneously repairing and constructing.

I actually beat one of my friends because of the finicky assist system. I tried bombing his anti-nuke and failed, just brought it down to half health, but I launched another nuke anyway. I had just fired a volley of nukes to deplete his anti-nukes, but he tasked a swarm of engies to assist the anti-nuke and refill it. Unfortunately for him, since it was damaged, all they did was repair it and stop, so the anti-nuke missiles were never built in time and my nuke went off and gutted his base.

I think that the default right-click command on a damaged unit (that you own) with build capability should be assist, not repair, because, IMO, that's what you usually want to happen. When you right click on a damaged unit that doesn't have build capability, it should default to the repair command. But these of course are just my opinion, might be good fodder for a mod down the road.
