This mod will set the trees in game to the lowest quality model i could find. Made by request to improve perfomance by reducing the amount and quality of the rendered trees. This reduces over all loading and memory useage as all the tree models are now identical and the lowest quailty one available and the tree grouping has been reduced. To use this mod. 1, Download and unzip "Trees Mod" 2, Copy all the unzipped files over the originals in this folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Planetary Annihilation\PA\media\pa\terrain\jungle\fbx" Done, This will replace all the original tree models with the lowest quality tree in the game Enjoy the small speed improvement To restore the orignal models Just click verify files in the uber Launcher or in steam ,, or make a backup of the originals before overwriting them Screenshot by request
Updating the game will remove the mod, if you wish to use it after an update you will need to repeat the steps posted above
screenshot would be nice, wouldn't mind having this so long as the trees dont look like complete crap.
yea hope they look decent.. although i prefer performance over visuals so will use this mod thanks. U should use the mod manager for ur performance mods. well if its possible idk anything about modding so yea thanks for the mod ^_^
Im using the 6th tree out of the 6 that uber supplied with the game (i replaced the other 5 trees with the model from the 6th tree as it was the least complex). The graphics look unchanged, but the same tree is used over and over instead of there being 6 kinds of trees there is now only 1. I will screenshot later when i have some more free time. I can assure you that the graphics wont look bad, i wont make any modification that makes the game less appealing, if i made the game unappealing i would consider that slapping the developers in the face and i wont do that .. lol.
So far shaders and biome mods can't be added into the mod manager. Hopefully by release they will add this feature.
We have an option at some point that turns on the impostor trees at all times. They're extremely low poly (6 to be exact) but they do look like the tree / rock they're supposed to be. That'll be important at some point.
No tree reducer With Tree Reducer Mod I tried to get the same spot of land on the same planet for control pic's. I have an intel HD 4000 so the FPS boost is minimal, aprox 3-5 fps depending on the resolution i'm playing at. It may have better result's on older cards.
It doesn't remove tree's it just replaces all tree's with tree the one's that were the lowest in complexity. It also changes the density of trees a little so their not so cluttered. It may not be the same for all seed's i may need to test more seed's to see how well it's working.
