Anyway, is this game still alive? How long does it take to start a pub match?

Couple minutes. Usually 2-3 lobbies going all the time.

You hit quick match and 10 seconds later your in a lobby unless you are playing during the middle of the night. Even then there is usually at least 1 full lobby.
