I think a change that needs to happen is for all naval battles to take longer - unlike every land or air battle that is determined within 10 seconds. It will help add to the tanky feel of naval, and fix a lot of the issues surrounding t2 missile boats by removing their ability to oneshot Leviathans. (they should still one shot bluebottles) I also love the idea of two types of naval: one with a shorter range and faster speed like bots, while the other with a slower speed but massive range and damage. I would love for an aircraft Carrier unit....but we will see.
Yeah, TA naval battles were awesome. Ships were slow. They turned slow. They had tons of HP. They had multiple independent turrets. Note how the one (Core) battleship in the screenshot has a forward gun that's actually a gatling laser while the rear gun is a 3-barrel cannon and they are both aiming at different targets. Navy was one of the best things about TA. I do hope PA can get on that level at some point.
I don't know why you'd say that, as if it was fundamentally flawed. I see no reason it can't work as well as TA. Needs stat tweaking and pathing fixes, mainly.
I think if kalherine used her native language and we were all forced to use google translate to figure out what she said we would all come away understanding her better lol.
Hilarious Ad Hominem aside, I am considering making that thread now. Naval may or may not be awful, but this thread is. *this is the point I would lock it, if I were a mod, maybe that is why I am not*
I tried again looking for that match. Cumsume was in it I am fairly sure, and it was commentated by someone who said "this is their first video coming back after a large break". If anyone remembers what match/video that was, please find it for me. It showed a commander fighting ships. The ships pecked him down to 1-hit health, then he retreated while another ship moved in. Right when the commander made it back to shore with fabbers coming to repair, the ship tagged him and blew him and his naval yard and fabbers and bot factory all up. I swore when I saw that, I lol'd, like the ship "let" him make it to his own base and used him like a walking nuke.
With 60 water... Try to think of the T2 Naval as strategic assets and it'll go smoother for you. They park somewhere and blow up anything they can reach. They aren't there to intercept bombers and armies. Every map I've played on (usually %30-%40 water tops) Naval has been pretty good, in terms of speed anyway. With the bigger ponds, it's usually navy vs navy anyway, so any increase in speed isn't going to make things better or worse. @ OP, are you complaining about naval units with respect to fighting armies, bases, navies or all of them?
